About the only apron I wear these days is a special type made for Home Economics that we use for Breakfast club. Keeps the fat spatters under control. Yet in days gone by it was the done thing to wear an apron, like hats and gloves. My thoughts are that the clothes underneath are not so precious these days - hence a lot of my T-shirts have stains on the front. Maybe there's a message there? We probably have heaps more clothes too these days although some of mine are home only, not for going out in - even just to the local shops.
What is A&P Josie? The only one I know is Anatomy & Physiology and you can't go there. My mother and aunt made aprons to sell for stalls at local strawberry fetes and similar. Sad to see some of those days disappear but a lot of work behind the scenes.
Glad you enjoyed this Gail, I wear them every day all day, I have been known to go to the A&P with one on, by mistake. I buy them from a lady on eBay, she makes them from vintage patterns.
