PutterDutt 6 August 2019 Sad. I had 2 1964s. ParsonWayne 6 August 2019 I am sad that the 2019 Impalas are the last to be built. I love mine. PutterDutt 6 August 2019 Don't know Nissan Versas, but DO know Chevy Impalas. Great cars! ParsonWayne 6 August 2019 My wife bought her first new car [that she had picked out just for her to drive], a Nissan Versa, twenty-eight months ago [not sure how long ago that is in metric], and it only has a little over 7000 miles. It had 11 miles on it when she purchased it. I inherited her 2010 Chevy Impala. and during the same period, I have over 20,000 miles on the Impala. I probably dive a little more than she does. manicpuzzler 6 August 2019 LOL I know, not a mark on it either :)) PutterDutt 6 August 2019 That's barely even broken in, Bonnie! manicpuzzler 6 August 2019 A car, to me, is simply a mode to get from A to B. I have a little 1200cc Renault Twingo. It's fine for what I do, a June 2014 plate and it's only done 14,400 miles. (It was six months old when I bought it). Mazy 6 August 2019 And here we are, the UK and Canada, countries that produce our OWN oil! There's a reason that huge American cars and massive bus-like RV's towing Hummers always have US licence plates!! manicpuzzler 6 August 2019 Hubby gets an email every week with the cheapest in our local area. Not sure who he is signed up to though. Mazy 6 August 2019 I recommend the use of the gasbuddy.com website, to find the cheapest local gas :)it's in the states and Canada, not sure about the UK. ladywil2 24 July 2019 In Montreal: $1.29 per litre regular gas$1.40+ per litre, premium gas. Also here, tax on tax on tax.We go off the island to the next province, Ontario, where it is most of the time 15 cts/litre cheaper ParsonWayne 23 July 2019 It is better than the 18 cents per gallon that the governor wanted to raise it to. Returner 23 July 2019 @ParsonWayne - Thanks for correcting that. I thought it was a steep increase. ParsonWayne 23 July 2019 Returner, from what I've read, that 10.7 cents per gallon tax in Ohio is to be phased in over a three-year period. Our gasoline didn't go up ten cents a gallon. manicpuzzler 23 July 2019 There is a lot of Tax on our fuel :( PutterDutt 23 July 2019 Double OUCH, Bonnie.I go both ways, so to speak, Mazy. I drink both! :o) manicpuzzler 23 July 2019 Unleaded petrol £1.28 per litre. Diesel £1.32 per litre4.58 litres to a UK gallon and 3.78 litres in a US gallon £4.84 per US gallon for petrol£4.99 per us gallon for diesel Mazy 23 July 2019 I do moan about things, sometimes, but only truly moanworthy things.Tax on tax!!! we need a gas party like the tea party.Hey, is that why Americans drink coffee more than tea? PutterDutt 23 July 2019 OUCH!!! Mazy 23 July 2019 Gas taxes in Canada are outrageous: everyone pays a 10c/l federal tax, plus a provincial tax of up to 20.5c/l, plus, in some jurisdictions like Vancouver, for example, a carbon tax AND a public transit levy, for a total pre-tax (yup, I meant that) tax of 37.06c/l for example in Vancouver. THEN THAT total has sales tax applied to it - in other words, taxes on the taxes - of up to 15%.So Vancouver has the most highly taxed gas in the country - probably on the continent - since (converted to US gallons) there is $1.4729 minimum tax per gallon. Naturally the price of fuel goes up, the sales tax gets bigger. PutterDutt 22 July 2019 I honestly don't know (or WANT to know) how much tax we're getting socked in Wisconsin, Returner. All I know is that it's around $2.60/gallon right now. Returner 22 July 2019 Ohio gas tax went up 10.5 cents per gallon in June. So their prices aren't quite so low now. PutterDutt 22 July 2019 Why does Ohio so often have lower prices, PW? Mazy 22 July 2019 ...and this is why Canadians who live right at the border buy all their gas in the states.Tanks for that, PW, you're such a gas! When I thought about posting Canadian and UK gas prices, I thought, diesel make you feel a little more pumped about the prices you guys pay in the states. ParsonWayne 22 July 2019 I was feeling bad because I have to pay $2.49+9/10 USD yesterday. PutterDutt 22 July 2019 I do, kshastings! Mazy 22 July 2019 I noticed that too, FB. And it looks like the chap on the right is holding a hose attached to the pump.Gas is $5.75 / US gal here... which with the $ conversion is $4.38 USD. I can only imagine how bad it is in the UK now... @manicpuzzler could tell us. Crazy since Canada produces almost 3 times the volume of oil than the US if you count it as barrels per capita. And the UK's Hibernia oil production is none too shabby either. kshastings 22 July 2019 Remember "You can trust your car to the man who wears the star?" PutterDutt 22 July 2019 You ARE an eagle-eye, FB. I didn't look that closely.Remember when you could get free drinking glasses and your windshield cleaned, for FREE?NINETEEN cents, kshastings? Mercy! dbnc2 22 July 2019 i didn't know that Returner 22 July 2019 Remember? Gas stations had attendants to fill up your tank. And at this early date, it makes sense they hadn't yet invented the hoses that reach to fill your tank. Fingerbreaker 22 July 2019 A nice ornate looking station. Sorta Oriental style.Does that say "GOOD GULF GASOLINE" on the facade. Are those milk churns? Looks like the chap at the rear is filling up a churn, and his chum in the middle is tipping a churn full down a funnel. Perhaps the truck on the left is delivering gas, and not receiving? dustydog 22 July 2019 Ahhh, the "good ol' days, when one could get a tank of gas, take your date to the movies, and grab a bite to eat afterward, all for about $10.00! kshastings 22 July 2019 The price got down to 19 cents in San Antonio TX ParsonWayne 22 July 2019 Many people STILL like to golf.I remember in 1961 when there was a gas war - to see who could sell the cheapest gasoline, I had to pay 23.9 cents per gallon. It is a wee bit more expensive now. Mazy 22 July 2019 oh, good point - 'pump', you must have had to physically pump it. PutterDutt 22 July 2019 I'm guessing that they did "pump it yourself" from those antique pumps. Really not sure. Mazy 22 July 2019 what did they do before? go inside, sit down, pick up a menu... I'll have 5 gallons of unleaded, please. PutterDutt 22 July 2019 The start of an empire! Why this advertisement?
