Haven't seen much of the pheasants lately, but this one has made an appearance on the patio wall. There is another male that I see in the field, that is in full plumage so possibly this is a juvenile finishing its change to adult plumage or an adult who is a bit late with his moult.

Thanks budila, the pheasants are beginning to make themselves visible again now. But they are attracted to the oak trees I have in the fields, to feast on the acorns. I haven't seen one a scruffy as this in a long time. We used to get a lot of them, especially when they released them for the shots, but that doesn't appear to have happened this year.
Can't wait for the male pheasant and his ladies to all appear on the patio and do a good job of trampling on the plants in the flower beds.

There were 2 pheasants in my local recreation ground about 6.30 in the morning this week. They were much more good looking than this one. The odd one or two comes in to the town about this time of year, probably to get away from the local shoot. There used to be farm fields on the edge of town where they would go for grain but they have now been built on. Thank you for the picture.
