Oh dear @lobin its so long since you have appeared here, not seen you since before your Election. I do hope you are well, I often think of you and look at your wonderful art. I miss `talking’ to you and solving your amazing puzzles. Take care, be well my friend. Fay.

lobin

@Fowly -Happy New Year to you as well! Wishing you a NAMBY in 2021. (new and much better year). Our family had a quiet Christmas and it was very nice. Walked the doggies, ate a nice dinner in front of the fireplace. We are being very very careful in our outings. I haven't been in a single store since last March. I'm getting used to it. Maybe I'll never shop again :) Today is my younger son's BD so I'm baking him a chocolate cake -which I intend not to eat.
Take care, my friend. I haven't been on Jigidi much for quite a while but I'm glad I checked in to get your lovely message.

Fowly

Happy New Year dear @lobin. I hope your Christmas was a good time for you and your family....either together or distant. I was lucky and had my daughter and her husband here with me for a few days. We met some friends and 8 of us had Christmas dinner at a lovely restaurant. New Year’s Eve is going to be quiet though. And for many Victorians visiting in N.S.W it will probably be a rush to get back home as there are more covid cases in the Sydney area and the borders are to be closed again. We mustn’t get too complacent must we. I shall look for some more of your art posts in the near(ish) future Lobin. Stay safe and well dear friend. Hugs. Fay.

Fowly

So pleased you like it lobin. I have read your email, it is lovely hearing from you.I love lavender too, i have some old bushes in a back garden and I once had 13 different types out front. I don't make quilts any more, my last one is done with Clarice Cliff pictures and 3 different fabrics of her design. I started it and a friend finished it for me.....she did a far better job of it than I would have done. Hope you enjoyed your day......lets hope airplanes can carry more than freight and mail next year.
I look forward to seeing some of your wonderful art on Jigidi again, but as usual, I wont nag you about it. Stay well my dear friend. Fay.

lobin

@Fowly...THANK YOU!!!!! You made my day.
I sent you an email :)

lobin

@peachesgal...so great to hear from you, Sharon. And thank you for the compliment. Getting my mind geared up now to start work on my artwork. It's been a needed break for me but now I must get back to it. Hope you are doing well and staying safe.

peachesgal

Hiya lobin. I haven't been on much lately. Good to see you. I have always loved your art! Stay safe, my friend. Sharon ;-D ❤️

lobin

@Fowly...aww, thank you :)

Fowly

Many happy thoughts and wishes are going your way today Lobin. And wishes for many many more. Love. Fay. ❤️

lobin

@Fowly
HaHa. I was thinking your emojis were a bit of a mystery...
We have 367 lightning fire strikes around us. We are in no imminent danger where i live but it's really smoky. And Grateful to have so many masks available.

I was told that Almost Australian ends up in Burleigh Heads. My hubby grew up in that area so we've visited many times. It's changed much over the years I know.

Fowly

I put a doughnut and an ice cream where the ?? are, I was going to delete the ☝️ And it is the only one Mr.interfering IPad left!. F.!

Fowly

Hello my friend, It is in the post this am. Don’t know how long `The Slow Plane From Australia’ will take, but IT is on its way. Don’t read the package label , just open!!!
It is COLD here,I shut myself in what was Archie‘s study and put the heater on....and my iPad.
Love your message below, gave me the spurt on to do other things and leave said IPad alone for something more beneficial.
I have seen some of Miriams documentary and enjoyed it. She has seen parts of Australia I have not visited. I have not been to Oolaroo or any of the red heart areas, they dont have an appeal for me.
You try and stay cool, and i will definately be as warm as possible.
Take care not to get TOO MUCH paint on yourself, and have a great inspirational time with your art. Fay.❤️??☝️

lobin

Oh I am so glad to hear from you. I was getting really worried that something might have happened to you. Relieved to hear you're ok. I am well. Just got clean results on my last CT scan so that's always a relief. My family and pets are all doing well. You are right-it is VERY hot here. Me no like that.

For the last few months I've been writing postcards to "get out the vote" to folks all over the USA . I've now written close to 3,000 cards. It's the very least I can do to try to help us get out of our very dire political situation.

I put my art on hold for awhile but now I'ver brought out all my materials so will be getting back at it. Especially now you'll be at me :) Ha ha.

On a side note, I've been trying to watch a BBC documentary series called 'Almost Australian" featuring Miriam Margolyes. Unfortunately it's really hard to get in US. I've seen snippets of it by streaming on DailyMotion. Give it a go if you can get it and tell me what you think.

I will email you privately with my address.

Again, I AM SO GLAD to hear from you!!!!

Fowly

I tried to send an email but failed, but I can read yours,lobin. Could you please send your address as I wish to mail you something and I cannot find it. Hope your busy keeping busy is paying off, we dont seem to be making much headway with this virus do we. I am well, went through a low patch for a few days, but have shaken that off thankfully. I’m getting a bit bored with the usual time filling pastimes, will have to look for some knitting to do. I wonder if you have started some of your lovely artwork, I look at it frequently and enjoy what I am seeing, but want some more puzzles please.
Hope you and your family and pets are OK, its probably hot there now. Stay well dear lobin. Fay.

lobin

@Fowly...miss you. hope you are doing well. i'm busy trying to stay busy :)

Fowly

Hello @lobin, Thank you for your update
I am pleased you enjoyed your own home made granola, I haven’t tried it, but will do so when I find out which one my friend said was so good. Too many choices on the supermarket shelves.
I am concerned that our PM is going to lift some lockdown too soon also, we haven't come into winter yet. He is keen to get people working again as it is costing the country billions of dollars each day, (as is the situation worldwide). Understandable, but lots more people could die.
And the inquiry into the Ruby Princess is rather dire. Too many infected passengers were allowed to go home. Interesting .
I went and had my hair cut yesterday, it feels AND looks much better. I have curly hair that needs to be kept short, otherwise I have an Afro, but rather a straight one.
Still trying to get rid of a shocking cough, but am well regardless.
Stay well and happy. Fay.

lobin

@Fowly
Update! Update! I ate almost all of the granola by myself..sickening but boy it tasted good:)
Hope you are well. The county I live in is still under pretty strict lockdown but all around us is opening up. Scary.
I never thought I would miss grocery shopping so much.
Hope you're doing well, my friend

@Fowly
haha I much prefer a bad donut of flu :)
We're hanging in there. All of us at home. My 2 sons, hubby, 2 dogs, 2 cats...keeps me busy and I do a lot of walking.
I fear it's going to to be quite a long time before life gets back to a more normal routine.
Congratulations on the birth of your 2 new great grandchildren. Hopefully you'll get to meet them soon.
Instead of art right now I'm sewing masks and still baking. I made a huge batch of granola today. Hoping I don't eat TOO much of it.
Good to hear from you. We'll stay in touch yes!

Fowly

I did say ....a bad BOUT of flu.... but my iPad thought it new better, and i didnt check!! Fay.

Fowly

@lobin...I am just getting over a bad donut of flu and would ❤️ some of your homemade soup.
I am wondering how you are getting on in this isolating time, and hoping you are well.
My eldest grandson and his partner had a daughter last week, and named her Chloe Jane. A few days later my eldest granddaughter and her partner had a son and named him Donald Matthew. Both were Caesarian births.
My plant potty looks lovely on an old plant stand.
Do hope you are OK, ((my friend)) take care. Fay.

lobin

@Fowly...timing is perfect. I'm eating my homemade soup now!!! And I'm baking bread. Ready to come out of the oven any minute. I will send you some---virtually. So very glad to hear that you're doing well. I do hope we get to meet sometime. I feel like you're an old friend (not in years...you know what I mean).
I LOVE the chamber pot idea. I have the tops of animal cookie jars that I place in my garden. Cows, chickens, lizards...whatever makes me smile.
Take care!!!

Fowly

Hello @lobin wondering how you are getting on. It is a frightening time , but I don’t mind our `stay at home’ policy just wish my family would take it more seriously, EG, sisters husband was still going to the shops while my sister was self quarantined after being on a short cruise. She is OK thankfully. . I am finding folk very mindful of the older community, I had a day out with a friend before the big shutdown and visited a renovated Woolworths supermarket, an assistant asked if we were looking for anything in particular, then asked if we needed toilet paper, when we said yes, she took our shopping bags out the back and gave us each an 8pack, and asked us to keep the bag shut until we got to the checkout......there were none on the shelves. We had a lovely day, and those memories will help get through this shut off/in period. I also bought something I have been looking for, for years, to use as a plant pot holder, now don’t laugh, a chamber pot.... and it is a Wedgwood with a delicate all over pattern. It fits perfectly on the antique stand and the plant looks lovely in it.

Homemade soup sounds delicious ,a good meal with some crusty bread.

I hope you are well,lobin, take care and don’t heed your president if you strongly believe he is not making the right decision on a health point. ❤️ Fay.

lobin

@Fowly
I put my gym membership on hold for 3 months, I cancelled my flight to South Carolina and do not intend to purchase AU tickets until things have settled down.
I'm trying to be mindful of some elderly friends who live alone-with calls and soup making. Maybe I'll send you some soup :) hee hee

Who knows what will happen in US with our INSANE president. Absolutely terrifying that he's "in charge" of handling this crisis.
You also take care of yourself. We'll stay in touch, ok? Lobin

Fowly

Hello @lobin wondering how you are getting on, and thankful you haven't booked your tickets yet. I am well and trying to be sensible re this coronavirus epi/pandemic. Let us hope scientists find a cure for it soon. Until stay safe and take care my friend. Fay ❤️

lobin

@Fowly
It's good to get some good news! Any good news I'll take. The US is a total mess and I'm so sad about our political breakdown. So, keep the good news coming. Of course losing the critters is a huge sadness and I've been trying to not think about it too much. I have such a soft spot in my heart for animals -especially injured ones.
Yes, I'll have to look up to see where you live in relation to where we'll be. We haven't an itinerary yet.
So GOOD to hear from you again and continue to take good care of yourself.
Linda :)

Fowly

@lobin It is amazing how quickly the countryside is recovering since the rain, after such devastating fires. The blackened trees are sprouting new growth all up their trunks and in their canopies, It looks beautiful. The pasturelands are all that lovely NEW green that only rain can give them. A group of camouflage uniformed army personnel are looking for injured wildlife, on last nights news, a group of 3 were standing on a road, and a young koala ran up to a soldier and climbed up his leg.....a lovely sight. But there is concern as to the species we might have lost.
If you are in my little neck of the woods during your Australian holiday, I would love to meet you. I realise the distances between all these places.....but you never know. Stay well my friend, Fay.

lobin

@Fowly
Toowoomba, Burleigh Heads Surfer's Paradise area and then on to Tasmania to see more rellies:)
My husband's mum was born and raised there. My hubby grew up on the Gold Coast so he has a bunch of friends there still. And I'm a tea drinker and beach walker so I love being there

Fowly

@lobin. What part of Australia will you be visiting????? It is a long flight from the USA. I have had two holidays there, and 3 in Hawaii. Last time we were there (Hawaii) we were on the last flight out before the Twin Towers accident, we were lucky. Loved all those trips. More rain today , it sounds lovely on my metal roof. Take care, Fay.

lobin

@Fowly
Thank you for some 'good' news!!! So happy to hear you've had some rain.
We'll be in your beautiful country in July this year I think. Visiting family and friends for a few weeks.
Take care. Please keep me posted how you're doing. It's always great to hear from you.
Lobin

Fowly

Hello lobin, keep up the good work with your recouperative exercises, a frozen shoulder would not be good for your wellbeing...in any direction. We have been getting some lovely rain yesterday and today. The bushfires have been doused and the dams and rivers filling up......in fact some rivers and areas are flooded. The ground is too dry to soak up the rain. The total area razed by the fires is almost the size of the UK. But already the burned trees are sprouting again and the undergrowth starting to rejuvenate. Nature is amazing. Stay well dear friend, love and hugs for you also. Fay❤️

lobin

@Fowly
Relieved I am to hear from you. So sorry you are so close to the fires. I can only imagine the desperation and fear that people must feel. Please stay in touch with me as the future unfolds. I feel so sad for your beautiful country and the tremendous loss of wildlife :(

On a much more mundane note when things are put in perspective...
I'm continuing to improve my range of motion. Another month of PT -which has really helped. Just don't want to end up with frozen shoulder.

Sending love and recuperative hugs...Lobin

Fowly

@lobin It’s very remiss of me, Lobin.....how is your arm now? I hope your recuperation went well and that you also enjoyed your enforced `holiday’. I hope you enjoyed your Christmas and New Years celebrations. Stay well. Fay.

Fowly

@lobin Ah my dear friend, yes, still safe but the fires have not been extinguished. Yesterday i had planes passing low over and near my home ,all day, scooping water from the sea and dropping it on nearby fires. Last weekend we had telephone warnings and were told we had no means of evacuating as the highway was closed to the North and South. But my village has a lake on either side, and the sea at the end, and it is considered to be a safe area. It is rather frightening, but that is a small matter when I think of what a lot of other people have lost. Thank you for your thoughts and care. Fay,

lobin

@Fowly
I am checking daily to see if you are still safe and sound. I know I will hear from you when you are able so in the meantime-take care, my friend.

lobin

@Fowly
I. AM. SO. RELIEVED!!!!!
Thank you for getting back to me with such good news. I hope that your village doesn't sustain too much damage.
At least you are safe and sound...keep me posted please please please

Fowly

@lobin. Dear lobin, I am safe but the village is deemed not to be out of danger yet. We had a power cut for three days from Christmas Eve, but I was still unable to use my IPad until just now. I have no family nearby, but neighbours are very supportive, even ones I hadn’t met. When the power did returned we couldn’t use our landline phones and the TV couldn’t get the signals and this silence isn’t good. Still, I am OK and we all take one day at a time, support each other and hope it will end soon. thank you for your love and prayers lobin. Fay.

lobin

@Fowly
I check this site every day hoping to get word from you. So hope you are safe and sound....

lobin

@Fowly I was wondering how affected you might be. It's so terrifying. I am SO grateful to hear from you. Please know that I am thinking about you and sending love and prayers. You can keep me posted PLEASE also by email at lforell@gmail.com
I hope you have friends or family nearby who can check in with you.
love, lobin

Fowly

@lobin, things are not good bushfire ways, in my little village, lobin. The alert for Saturday, tomorrow, is extreme on the board. Villages to the North and South have been severely if not totally gutted. The holiday people have been asked to evacuate while they can and there is only one way they can travel as the highway has been cut to the north,and to the south of where they can turn off to get over the mountain. This is an unlit, dirt road and the traffic is bumper to bumper for miles, imagine that with all those caravans, I would be frightened of running out of petrol as there are no petrol stations on that road. Mallacoota, a village further south was gutted and the 4000 residents gathered on their beach. They are being rescued by our Navy, 800 each boat. Pity we cant use sea water to quell the fires, there is a big ocean of that four blocks away from here. Sorry, lobin, I just thought I should tell you. Hope you are enjoying your recuperating holiday, Fay.❤️

lobin

gemmadent-yes, it does sorta look that way :)

It is a number nine.

lobin

Hey Fay..always a pleasure to please you, my friend :)

Fowly
