I did not take this photo but I have been to this temple. The Buddha sits on top of a hill and the temple is toward the bottom of the hillside. The temple itself is very beautiful and has colorful images of dragons on the outside and paintings detailing the different parts of the life of the Buddha and a nice Buddha inside. It is a long walk to the top and it was about 11:00 a.m. when we went. I was sweating and out of breath but my Vietnamese in-laws were not bothered. It is huge when you are close to it. It is really overwhelming. We stayed up there for a while and a young child came up and started telling me the entire history of the temple and the Buddha in perfect English. She did this for tourists and then expected a little tip for it. The Communist Party may be in charge but Vietnamese people are very wise about making and keeping money.
