What is This?

Yes, elderberry. My father used to make wine from the berries & elderflower champagne from the flowers. My mother used to make jam & pie from the berries (which can be mixed with blackberries). A great bush for foraging.

Yes I like wine and would try elderberry wine. I don't want my daughter making it.

The flowers should smell very strong as well. I can always smell the bush before it comes in sight.

looks like an elderberry bush to me. tiny black berries,in a cluster, makes great pie or jam. need to add sugar.
