I totally agree! Living in the present and remembering to value it, is how to live a life of no regrets. My philosophy of life has always been: "Desiderata." http://www.wowzone.com/desi.htm

Dilubreuer

i agree to that quote katlvr...

katlvr

I know what you mean, 4wings5. As my screen-saver I have the quote from Robert Brault, "Enjoy the little things in life...for one day you'll look back and realise they were the big things."

katlvr

No Dilubreuer...don't know what that is. Will find a pic of the Port Wine Magnolia and post shortly.

Dilubreuer

@katlvr : wonder if this is your Port Wine Magnolia?

I moved back in November of 2009. It seems like yesterday! To where does the time go?!?

Dilubreuer

Yes, the White Candles... Cairns temp is very much like ours here in the Phils. Will check out your Magnolia and see if we have them here. Thanks Kat...

katlvr

How long since you moved from Melbourne, 4wings5? Beautiful city but sooooo busy now! We only venture into the city when we have to.

Hot and humid in Cairns, Dilubreuer. Much more comfortable in the southern states (except in the middle of summer!!!) We have two PortWine Magnolias (shrub with small flowers perfumed something like bubblegum). Do you mean "White Candles" as the white look-a-like? Very pretty.

Dilubreuer

Been to Cairns once im the early 2000's but have plans of visiting the rest of the country in the near future. You have the best flowers in your garden, all lovely in bloom...what Magnolia do you have there?
Have you seen the white look-a-like of this i posted yesterday?

4wings5

That they flower again from the same stem is amazing, really. Meanwhile, I lived in Melbourne [Berwick] for two years, katlvr :) I miss it every day! ♪ Debb ♫

katlvr

Thank you, 4wings5. The flowers open, die off after several weeks then flower again from the same stems.

Dilubreuer I just took my trusty tape measure into the garden to measure them! I have two plants at approx. 110cm tall and one at 150cm tall (but I have let that one get a bit leggy).
I'm not a dedicated gardener but have a few nice plants - camellias, magnolias, orchids, abutilon etc. and we live in central Victoria.

4wings5

This is gorgeous, katlvr :) Such a lovely shade of pink and an interesting form! Thanks for an excellent puzzle! ♪ Debb ♫

i have seen a white one almost similar to this but i am doubtful it is Justicia variety. You might know it, will post it tomorrow so you can ID.
How big is the plant of your pink J? Am amazed to see a pink one, just love it too. You could have a nice garden...where in Aussie?

katlvr

Yes it is. As I was commenting on your red Justicia photo I thought you might like to see this colour that I was trying to describe. If I break off a bit when weeding I just stick it into the soil and it grows! No effort!

Dilubreuer

wow, so pretty! is this from your garden katlvr? Thank you so much!
