@RebeccaB, Not sure why. In fact her sisters were named Gem and Ruby (their mother was Pearl), so I kind of deviated from the theme with Matilda. I know that a lot of people use somewhat more "old fashioned" names for naming their flock (for example: Charlotte, Gladys, Beatrice, Harriet, or Mabel).
