Well those big old car with giant engines were neat. But, I know that when Ford came out with their V12, It was not much more than the V8 in size. The pistons were all much smaller. Like lawn mower pistons. So, the amount of pistons was not the answer, better to have big pistons with more torque. Nowadays, engineers are pulling more horsepower out of V6 engines than was available in the V8's. Progress. Still looking back that was a lot of moving parts. Pat.
Pat, Not only was the Cadillac V16 the most cylinders for an American production car, but them and Marmon are the only American makes ever to produce such an engine. And Cadillac made two different versions of the V16. Those were truly remarkable times. Marshall
Ooooo, nice, Dual Cowl Phaeton. V16 I think that is the most cylinders put into an american production car ever. It sounds big, but maybe just many. Pat.
