Yes, it does seem harsh. But you are right - problem solved.


They are very adaptable and invasive. They may displace your native Ibis eventually, then spreading through to Central and South America. It might sound harsh but problem solved.


You did a great capture of this unusual bird, Peter. I love the surroundings, too. I read about the Sacred Ibis online and was surprised to learn they escaped from a Miami, Florida zoo, and the population slowly increased. After they were discovered nesting in the Everglades, a decision was made to remove the species. So, the birds were removed and are now believed to be eradicated from Florida. I don't know why unless they became invasive to the native birds.
