Hi Ann! Well aren't you the clever girl, coming up with a great solution like that!!!! Yes, that would definitely work and look great on both sides too!

annjax

Monica, how about TWO plates mounted back to back on the same 'stem'?.................

mhughes69

Hi there Ann! WHEEEEE indeed, shoot, one more thing that I didn't think of, what would I do without you Ann! I suppose cementing it would work, the only thing is that it won't look very good on the backside if it if it is placed in an open garden. Up against a wall or something, then it would be o.k.! I would probably stick the pole inside of a small vegetable can and fill the can with concrete! Then bury the can about a foot or so in the ground! I think that would probably stop the pole from moving around, hopefully! I'm sure between you, Adrianna and myself, we'll manage to come up with something that will work! I've got all the faith in the world in us!...Hugs

Ya know, I guess you could just cement your rod to the dish itself. I just don't think it would be as secure without the added strength of a holder of some kind. And then, too, I forgot to mention an anchor of some kind to keep the rod from spinning around in the dirt. WHEEEEE!................

Adrianna- AAAWWW! I'm so happy that I could inspire you in this way! Have lots of fun making your flower plates, and don't forget to post pics of them for us so we can see your beautiful creations! Thanks so much for commenting!

Ann- Wow, you sure know a lot about hardware Ann! Thanks so much for the info, now I have an idea of how I'm going to go about making my own flower plates! I don't know how to modify conduit clamps, you make it all look so easy but I'm guessing it's not going to be as easy as I thought! Thanks again my good friend, for taking the time to show us a way to accomplish this project! Have a great day/ evening!

Adriana will know how to do it. She & her hubby have crafted some wonderful garden ornaments & shown them here. Check her older puzzles.
I think you could probably find the hardware @ a place like Home Depot. The rods would need to be square & the holder, too, to keep them from spinning in the wind. I was thinking of a conduit clamp cemented on the plate to hold the rod. BUT--unless they make them already square (I don't know), and of the same size, you would have to modify them yourself. There may be something already shaped that a rod would fit. I don't know. I never can find most things I need for a project & it p----s me off! The best luck I've had is online with some of the woodworking craft shops---all kinds of fittings & small accessories & parts there. But like I say---Adriana will probably have it all figured out, sooner or later. :-) ................

Gandmalucy- You are quite welcome, thanks so much!

Gnt1041- Thanks so much gnt, but these aren't my flowers as I got this pic off of the internet! But, soon I will have some of these myself! Can't wait to get started on them!

Pinknblack- Go to the Flea Markets or other stores and buy some cheap but still pretty ones and then you can still do it, that's what I'm going to do! Thanks for dropping by!

Sandy- I love the Iris too but still, I want very badly to make some of these for my gardens too! I think their fabulous! Thanks so much for commenting Sandy!

Ann- I haven't quite found that out yet but when I do I'll let you know! I agree with you, it would have to be something really strong and waterproof to hold all of that weight and to keep them dry! I'm wondering if it's possible to drill holes through glass or ceramic!

annjax

How do you put them together, with Super-Glue? It would have to be something very strong & waterproof..........

chickiemama

Very pretty, but even more so, I like the beautiful iris' behind them. Thanks Monica.

pinknblack

The blue is smashing. Wish I could part with my plates to do this.

gnt1041

Looks great in your flowers LOL

grandmalucy
