Oh yes Rettch, we love our shade trees. Hugs.

Rettch

The tree is called an evergreen elm and gives great afternoon shade. Since you live in an area that has hot weather, you know how welcome shade is. It cuts way down on our A/C bills.

Rettch your home is lovely, it looks so neat and comfortable. I see the sunflowers too, most suitable. I love your huge tree, what is it?
Thanks for sharing, hugs my friend.

Stairs are for the young, Rettch!
I grew up in a 2 story home with a basement, also. Lots of steps. The bedrooms were on the second floor and the laundry was in the basement. I'm thinking there was a clothes chute somewhere. It came out over the washer but I don't remember where it started.
I think we have 3 or 4 steps in our doors, but it's not too bad. At first we were so anxious to move near our grandson we looked at some split-levels and then I told my husband, we are stupid to move to a house with steps when we're getting older. They're about 90 miles away so we just drive back and forth.

For ten years while in high school and college, our home was a two story farmhouse. At college I also lived upstairs. When we first married and taught in Topeka, Kansas, we always wanted one of the split levels that were so popular in the 1960s. Now we have trouble getting up the two steps to our front door.

Rettch,
This is a lovely home! The older I get, the more I appreciate my own home. We've looked in Omaha so we could be closer to our grandson, but most of those are split-levels and the ranch style that we have now are way more expensive. Here I have my laundry on the main floor, so I'm not doing steps all the time. Also just have a few steps into the house, so bringing groceries in, isn't such a workout.
I see you have some sunflowers there. Very appropriate!
