Catherine and I get in really early, about 6:30 or sometimes earlier. Pat gets in later, but stays later too. We're trying to walk at 9 a.m. because it has been getting hot and Pat has a lot of meetings starting at 10 or later. If we go at lunchtime all the birds are gone, and we aren't seeing much even at 9. There was a great hawk the other day, a young Cooper's hawk, I think, but he refused to be photographed. Here's the only shot that even shows a hawk!
I actually saw a songbird chick today! No idea what kind, but they flew into the deep branches of a tree and the chick did the shivering-wings feed me feed me thing. Then they flew off on the other side of the tree.
