Gustav Vigeland (1869-1943) was probably the most important sculptor of Norway. His motiv was man as such and the life circle in all its forms. The sculpture park - situated within the large Frognerpark - shows a great many of his figures, mostly as stone sculptures.

@alias2v Thanks for taking the time to leave a nice note! I also like the little tantrum-thrower, but it's hard to decide which of his statues are the best!

I plan on working on digitizing them over the winter @alias2v . Being an exchange student in Norway for the summer was an amazing experience.

Pretty gate! Thank you, Heicel.
I think The Angry Boy is a cute little guy.
It would be nice to see your photoes from the park and your stay in Norway, @pumpkinhead

@pumpkinhead That must have been nice, to stay there! I've only spent half a day there but was delighted and impressed by the whole park. I do hope you'll find time in winter to work your slides into a puzzleable form 😉!

Ah. Thank you. How well I know this gate and every part of the park! I "lived" for 8 marvelous weeks, on Bygdøy the and Frognerpark was a place I visited often. It holds many special memories. Back "then", slides were the thing, and I have many of my stay in Norway. I have attempted to convert them to digital, but it is a very slow process. Winter is a good time for such projects.....til then....thank you, Celine!

@PLG1958 Thanks - I'm glad you share my sight of this!

@eagleboi I know you would have liked that park, Jim - it's full to the brim with beautiful statues and buildings! Have a safe and sound day, my friend!

@bluebird42 YOU would never have taken the finger from the button of your camera, Jacki! An idyllic little creek runs right through it, with trees swarming with birds!

I definitely agree with Patti and eagleboi! That gate is fabulous! And the park or garden beyond sounds most interesting. Thanks Céline!

Absolutely beautiful gate leading into this garden, all the lighting around must be very nice in the evenings. TFS Céline. @Heicel

What a beautiful gate, and very interesting info! Thank you Heicel!
