geopelia, as far as I know this picture was taken on the Watercress Line. I think the Cheltenham Flyer was operated by the Great Western Railway in the 1930's. I would imagine speeds approaching 100 m.p.h. would be scary for a 4 year old. Thanks for sharing your memory.


Is this the Cheltenham Flyer? I travelled on that before the war. I would have been about four. Word went down the train that it was doing a hundred miles an hour, after some record! Scary, at that speed in those days.
