A dictionary is a much more reliable source for word definitions than people. As my dad frequently admonished his children, "Get the dictionary habit." It is a good habit to cultivate.
LIKE A PEACOCK WITH A FANCY TAIL BUT INSTEAD IT IS ON THE BIRDS HEAD. I NEVER SAW SUCH A BIRD BUT GOOGLED IT AND THEY DO COME IN DIFFERENT COLORS. ALL BEAUTIFUL.
But we are so much better off than some of the world's population. A few months ago The Tampa Bay Times ran a heart-breaking article about the shortage of water in at least some areas of Madagascar. And there are other areas where water is beyond precious to humans & their needs.
The coming of some decent rain to areas of Florida is a welcome event - can understand your feeling excitement, julie88. :-)
We've had some rain, too - enough so our lake/pond is looking a little "wetter" now. :-) However, the sun dries up that "wetness" so quickly, without daily rain.
Not a good start to your morning. And not a good omen for the state in general. :-( The local weather person is telling us we have no rain prediction at all for the coming week - I hope that will change in the next day or two.
This bird is a doozy! I've never seen anything like it. It's awfully pretty, tho. I'll have to read and see what he's all about. He could definitely pass for royalty. Thanks julie88.
