LOL!! Thanks snooker:))))

Knowing snooker I'd say she was well aware of that saying Shirley:)))) Thanks!!

They're smart like that Dave aren't they:))) Thanks!!

The famous one leg duck pose!! They are beauties, Robyn!!

I think the saying is let sleeping dogs lie, maybe that should be extended to ducks as well, Rob, they do have pretty feathers, Thanks, Rob.

Wary, sleeping ducks. :)

Thanks for verifying the name of them Janet. We have two books of Aussie birds - one being the enormous Reader's Digest book - and what with that and the internet we seem to get by:))) I'm glad you liked today's posts - thanks!!

Yes Rob, they are Pacific Black Ducks. Just checked in my trusty bird guide. If you want a great bird book look for "The Slater Field Guide to Australian Birds" (revised edition) by Peter Slater, Pat Slater and Raoul Slater. Julian was given it by the Bundaberg Bird watchers club a few years back when he took some of them bird spotting around here. I love it. Unlike plants (a lot of which I know well) I sometimes need help with birds.

Fabulous photos for us today, thanks and hugs, janet

I think so too Lunie:)))

Yep - they all looked pretty slick to me too Barb:)))) LOL!!! Thanks:)))

Looks like those ducks take good care of their feathers....nicely groomed and slick...LOL
Thank you Rob for those photos :)

all said...they are just a beauty!

LOL!! Maybe they were just resting - there were quite a few people around, and they were probably hearing everything - so they'd be aware of any danger! Thanks!!

they really close their eyes while! i remembered Jim's photo on sleeping ducks...the eyes were open though...

Sitting ducks ikook:))) I love the feather patterns too - and the eye-liner:))) Thanks!!

Beautiful pictures, Rob. These ducks have beautiful feathers. The eye of the one on the left reminds me of Pharaoh's eyes. TFS!
