Pammi

@canoekaw

Many thanks for the tip Marilyn. Why is it that everything that tastes like sheer and absolute Heaven always has a down side? Where is the justice I ask you!!!

@canoekaw
Hi Marilyn
I read your response and I jotted the site down and will get to it.
Try harder to get your A1C back down, It is to your benefit!! Sometimes we throw caution to the wind and will pay for it dearly. Sooooo….bring it down the best you can. I am not a diabetic, but have close friends that are and I know from them that it is a tedious task to stay on the straight and narrow. My Cardiologist tells me I am borderline, I try to eat healthy and most of the time I do. I do like my candy especially dark chocolate. Boy, that last remark sure did not help you out.
Take care and hang in!!! Bev. 9-19-19...3:37pm Going to watch Jeopardy...:))

canoekaw

Hi Pammi and Bev. I was worried so I read your posts. If you are interested I have a website olivetomato.com I use the website to eat more healthy. I have been a diet-controlled diabetic for over 15 years. My A1C started at 6.6 I have had it as low at 5.9 but due to my love of chocolate, Ice cream and baking it has gone back up to 6.2 I have been trying to get myself back on track. olivetomato.com has been a great help to adjust my thinking and habits. I wish you both well. It is a struggle.

Pammi

Many thanks, Bev. ♥♥♥
@bevpuzzler8

Oh, Pammi, once you get through the tuff part, the frayed edges are a welcome. Bless you both!!!

Pammi

@bevpuzzler8 Bev, you are so very kind but no!! Having been pretty determined to avoid marriage at any cost, I eventually found myself saying yes to Eric's proposal. Believe me, nobody could have been more surprised than me. For once I had the brains to say yes to something instead of listening to the warning voice asking me what on Earth was I thinking. Therefore, I was twenty seven when we got married and we have now been married for fifty one years and still together, a bit more worn around the edges but still going strong. ♥♥

@Pammi

Pammi
Were you about 18 when you married? Bev..9-14-19

redina1

:))

Pammi

You're on girl!!!! ☺

redina1

If things were perfect here, what's heaven for? I am quoting someone but I don't know who. I do eat a little chocolate every day, and crave ice cream and pepsi constantly. My hubby is diabetic and has put himself on a diet and gotten more active and is losing weight. I am losing some because he does the grocery shopping and isn't bringing junk home anymore. Eating is my favorite thing, and sweets top the list. :( If you find that magic wand be sure and send a presto! in this direction. :))

Pammi

redina, since being told recently by my GP that my glucose level is so high I could be heading for Diabetes, I very quickly stopped my dreadful habit of eating chocolate almost every day and when I weighed myself yesterday, I was horrified to find I have lost 3 kilos (6.6 lbs) in a very short time. All my life I have tried to put on weight and to now lose so much so quickly is a bit confronting. On the other hand, my husband joined Weight Watchers about six months ago and has to date lost 9 kilos which is great but he does need to keep it up and shed some more. Why is it that we can't all just wave a magic wand and presto! have our dreams come true? ☺☺☺

redina1

Too bad we have to lose our good looks to get wisdom! I think we are better off now, but I sure wouldn't mind losing 30 lbs!

Pammi

Many thanks for you kind comment, redina1. I look at this photo now and say to myself, is that young-looking chick really me???? Pinch, pinch, yep, it really is. ☺♥☺

redina1

You were a very lovely bride, and he looks like he has the honeymoon on his mind. :)

Impie

Yeah Pammi....but despite all the ups and downs healthwise you are so lucky to have reached 50 years of still being together which many people, for one reason or another, can't say the same! ♡♡

Pammi

Thanks a million, Carrie. I wish we both still had the stamina we had back then. ♥♥

cbmuller

50 years to remember! What a reason to celebrate and for us to congratulate you!

Pammi

Ha! Thank you, Marilyn. Yep, we celebrated our 50th anniversary earlier this month. Through all the ups and downs, the bad times and the good, here we are and still together. ☺☺☺

canoekaw

Beautiful bride.

Pammi

Wow is right, Bobbie. These days we are not so bright-eyed and bushy-tailed as we were then but that's life. So long as the brain keeps insisting it is still only 35 then that's what matters most. ♥

luckybie

Hi Pammi, I am so excited to see your wedding photo in your website. I'm learning to navigate around better and maybe you will see that I've been here to see all your photos and puzzles. You were a beautiful bride, you and your new husband look so perfect and in love. Wow 49 years! ♥

irmachac

Pammi,
In the us, while the sun was shining but it was freezing. It was minus four degrees. So somehow survive the heat, it takes a lot to drink :-)

Pammi

Hi Gina. Sincere congratulations to both you and your husband for your 38th wedding anniversary. Yes, we have the 49th coming up in March. I can hardly believe it. Thank you for your lovely comments. It is very kind of you. ♥♥

PuzzleG

You & Nette definietly have us beat, Pammi! But my dear Hubby & I just celebrated our 38th anniversary on Jan 6th. I love your gown, & you were a lovely bride! I much prefer the more modest way they were made "back then". Mine even had a "sweetheart" neckline, but wasn't at all revealing. I guess I'm just "old fashioned", but I'm rather proud of that. Thank you for sharing this lovely image, & the happy memories that go along with it! ~ Gina, in Oregon, USA.

Pammi

Thank you Irena. It was a long time ago and I can't believe how those years have gone so fast. However, I guess that also means that there are so many happy memories to recall. It is very hot here today and we have someone fixing our air-conditioner at the moment as it is much too hot trying to live without it. I hope you are having a nice day. ♥♥♥

irmachac

Beautiful wedding photos, for year to celebrate the round anniversary. I hope my husband is already in order...Irena

jasonchung

It will be, Pammi.

Pammi

Thank you for your kind comment, Jason. Yeah, Eric is doing pretty well now and I am sure 2017 will be OUR year!!! ☺

jasonchung

It may be an old photo but it is a precious one. I can see that you have very good features and beautiful eyes that smiles to match a radiant smile.

Pammi, I hope your husband has fully recovered.

Pammi

Thank you Carrie. It's a bit different from brides of today who seem to mostly go for strapless dresses showing as much decolletage as humanly possible. Envious? Me? You bet. ♥♥

cbmuller

What a beautiful memory!

TTwistedRosee

That is good news Pammi. I hope things go as planned, it is not nice being in the hospital or being the person who has to be the emotional support.

Pammi

Thank you Janet. Hopefully (and finger crossed) Eric will be home tomorrow. I was so happy to see him as bright as a button when I visited this morning so it's looking promising. ♥♥

jan42ful

You look beautiful thanks Pammi and I'm so sorry to hear that Eric is in hospital. I guess by now he is home and hopefully improving.
Many hugs to you both.

nette10

Pammi..... thinking of you and your husband.......hoping all will soon be well! :o)

TTwistedRosee

I can relate about coming from a not so good home. I will be thinking about both of you. *Hugs*

Pammi

Hi there, Rosee. To be honest, nobody could be more surprised than me that here we both are all these years later and still going strong. I think perhaps because we both came from broken homes, each of us was determined to always support the other in every way. No partnership is without its up and downs of course but we have always overcome any difficulty that comes our way. Also, as you can see from below, there are so many lovely people on Jigidi who are always so caring and concerned for each other. My husband has another operation on Thursday and after that here's hoping it's all behind him. ☺☺☺

TTwistedRosee

I can't imagine being with anyone that long. Wow. I have no idea what is wrong with your husband, I hope he makes it through.

Pammi

My sincere thanks to all you lovely girls for your kind and caring comments. I'm confident Eric will be OK and can come home soon. I think what makes him feel worse is that his left arm is still in a sling from the shoulder operation and will be for another four weeks, so that limits what he can do physically and makes him unsteady on his feet. Not to worry, we have been through worse than this and come out smiling. ♥♥♥

Impie

Oh Pammi, I'm so sorry to hear Eric has to stay in hospital longer..... it won't be easy for you either. I'm thinking of you and keep everything crossed his condition will improve sothat he can come back home again where he probably will feel much better.
When a loved one suffers....you suffer as well and you wish you could help him/her but you can only be there for them all the way! Hang in there girl and please tell Eric we're thinking of him and wish him all the best! ♥♥

nette10

Sorry your husband is in hospital..... hopes he improves and is able to come home soon.

soo

Sorry you were feeling down Pammi but I'm not surprised with all that is going on. I hope Eric is feeling better, it's not easy when a loved one is in hospital. You have some lovely friends here on Jigidi and you know we are all here for you ♥

Pammi

nette10, thanks a million for your lovely comments. All my best wishes to you for your 52nd anniversary this month. Look like you and I are in it for the long haul. ☺♥☺

Pammi

soo, thank you for your very kind words. I was feeling a bit down this morning so decided to visit the hairdresser and have the works done and she has lifted my spirits wonderfully even if my purse is considerably lighter!! Can't take it with you, eh? ♥♥

Pammi

Impie, it's so funny to think that my thoughts on walking down the aisle were to the effect of he'd never put up with me for forty eight days much less forty eight years. Yet here we are. Unfortunately, Eric is still in hospital and they want him to see a urologist whose next visit to the hospital is on Thursday. Needless to say, he is getting pretty antsy but not well enough to come home yet. ☺☺☺
P.S. You do wonders for my self-confidence. ♥

nette10

Love black and white photos, congrats on 48 years...... 52 for us in Sept..... thanks for sharing your wedding pic! :o)

soo

Lovely photo Pammi and you look beautiful ♥

Impie

Aww Pammi, you both looked like a million dollars, such a lovely couple glowing from happiness. The photo might have faded somewhat, but your spirits certainly have not! ♥♥

48 years eh.... if this isn't true love than what is?

Pammi

maegi, thank you for your sweet words. It was all a long time ago, 48 years to be exact. My, how have all those years gone by so fast? ♥♥

maegi

Oh Pammi, you've been a very beautiful bride and we're sure you are still looking good (and not fade at all)!
