Camels definitely run wild in the outback areas dondi. They were introduced early last century as a means of transport over rough dry country & then left to go feral. They had Afghan handlers - & now they are sometimes exported to the Middle East as they are a pure strain.
They most certainly do...Australia has the largest population of wild camels in the world, last count at 1.2 million, they were first introduced in 1822.
