"This is called the Jolly Giant in Germfask, MI. If you eat all of this 6 egg omelette stuffed with potatoes, peppers, sausage, ham, and mushrooms (and the toast) you get it for free, a hat, and get put on their wall.

In 11 years no one had finished it all. I finished it in just over 30 minutes yesterday."

The 6 eggs are "a very very thin layer on the top. There's literally mountains of hash browns underneath." He adds that there is cheese on top and bacon in the mix.

A commenter asked, "Did you workout before ?? Or fast lol?"

He replied, "Yeah I definitely prepare for these. I've won 99 food challenges. And yes I definitely work out. If you look at my Reddit profile you can see some of the others I've done."

The restaurant is Toveys Jolly Inn in Germfask, a hamlet near Manistique on the edge of the infamous Seney Stretch in the Upper Peninsula.

@Mischka-My fading memory seems to drum up a chicken fried steak special.
Also had breakfast there another time, but a normal eggs, hashies, and BACON. :P

I don't know how I missed this before, but hey, everyone, Jim was actually there! Do you remember what you ate? :-)

The 6-egg omelet wouldn't be much of a challenge....its all the stuff inside that gets to you. LOL dj

All in all, just another brick in the wall.

I hope that wall is secure, after eating this platter, one is going to be a tad heavier than before they sat down. How do they put you on their wall? By a hook or placed on a platter that's sitting on a shelf?

Have actually eaten there. Not as much, but the food was pretty good. Manistique is a beautiful visit if one gets the chance.

The photo is a bit skewed if you use the size of the toast as reference. When I was 18, this wouldn’t have been too much of a challenge. A large pizza and a bucket of wings was a late night snack. Now a couple eggs, toast, and a glass of juice might be my limit.

I never got these challenges.

A radio station that interviewed him gave some more information:

Food challenges seem to be everywhere, so it may surprise you that there was one in Michigan that went unconquered for 11 years until a man from Battle Creek came to town.

The place is Toveys Jolly Inn in Germfask, a hamlet near Manistique on the edge of the infamous Seney Stretch in the Upper Peninsula.

The food was the Jolly Giant and our champion is Nathan Klein from Battle Creek.
