I'm replying here, out of (belated) respect for Marina. I think I was a bit rude to post my rant about Queensland iconoclasm on her page. Anyway, to proceed...
I'd never heard of Joni Mitchell until I read your comment, so I went across to Youtube and had a listen. WOW! What a voice.. and what a delightful little giggle. And yes, she might very well have been singing about Brisbane - even down to the parking lot! I notice that recording was made fifty years ago! I wonder what she's doing now... if still alive, even. More research coming up! You've whetted my curiosity.

Also, if you're interested, I might post a picture of the hole I referred to. It's the biggest hole ever dug in Brisbane's 190 year history. Watch this space...
