Why are you reporting this puzzle?

I took this photo last Labor Day in the rural area surrounding Ferndale, California. This Victorian era home has been abandoned and has been vacant for some time. I was surprised to see a number of old homes in this area end up with this same fate. It seemed sad to see what was once a very nice home in its day, end up this way. The strange thing is, you can drive several miles to the town of Ferndale and find a numerous homes of this vintage and nearly everyone is very well cared for and lived in.

Great shot, Terry. I too cannot understand why homes like this one (and which were once so very beautiful) have been left abandoned. So many homes and buildings are left vacant while they could have been renovated and kept very beautiful. Really sad. Thanks for sharing this today.

These walls would have a story to tell. I bet it would be one of love, living and being a family. This was once a very nice home and obviously well-loved. I'd like to know it's story. Since we can't know that, it's almost as good to see it in your work and imagine the life that was lived here. Thanks Terry for sharing. connie
