I think that fireworks should be banned completely. They frighten our pets and you also hear such horror stories about children throwing them at one another.

MrsVulture

Thank you for your kind comments. Terrible way to loose a dog. Police were fantastic and brought him home, the car driver refused to let us pay for the damage on his car, my husband collapsed on the ground with a serious asthma attack, my son buried paddy in our garden and he bought me a rose bush for his grave. It was my daughters birthday too. All through some idiot letting a rocket off for no reason on the park in the daytime in october, always use a harness for my two greyhounds now, much safer. Cheryl

Fireworks should be limited to a window of time on the holiday itself, so pet owners can be prepared. Random fireworks thrown from car windows are simply inexcusable. So sorry, Cheryl.

One more day, Rebob, and it will be over for a while. This is a great photo of you. Shows your expressive eyes. Two of my dogs are terrified of fireworks noise. My cat, Midnight, was so frightened that she would hide in my closet and scream very loudly. It was pitiful. MrsVulture, I'm so sorry about Paddy. I know you were devastated. I'm so sad for you to lose him that way. My first greyhound was terrified of fireworks, too. She pulled out of her collar, but fortunately there were no cars around.

MrsVulture, I am so very sorry for your loss. I hate fireworks, too.

MrsVulture

My greyhounds are terrified of fireworks. People seem to let them off all year round even during the day sometimes. I lost my beautiful boy Paddy when a firework exploded just above us while out for a walk near home. He panicked so badly he pulled out of his collar and ran into the road. I will never forget him dying in my arms. Cheryl

Aw. Poor baby. Mine know just how Rebob feels. Just endured the worst fireworks racket around our home EVER. Must have some new people in the neighborhood. It really did sound like a war zone. I closed all the windows, but still had some terrified cats. One more night to go....

I'm with Rebob.
