'51 Hudson

Hudson was a great car.

Yes, my Grandfather and Father both had Hudsons. The last one my Grandfather had was a '55 which he kept until 1965 when he bought a new Rambler Ambassador, which he felt was brand loyalty because Hudson merged with Nash-Kelvinator in 1954 to become American Motors. 1957 was the last model year for Hudson.

The Hudson was the foundation NASCAR was built on. My mom would NEVER drive anything else. When American Motors announced that they were discontinuing the Hudson line, she was really upset (this was about 1958 or 59). She bought her last Hudson at a discount after the line was closed and she drove it until my sister wrecked it in an accident in 1970. After that, no car could satisfy her!
