Today's Daily Jigsaw Puzzle, we visit the beautiful Old Church, Dunlewey. A grieving widower (Jane Smith Russell) had the church built as a memorial to her husband (James Russell), who was also the landlord of the Estate on which the church was built – the Dunlewey Estate. The church was consecrated on the 1st of September 1853 as a "chapel of ease" to the local parish.

Over the years, the Dunlewey Estate declined, and the church was no longer in regular use. The upkeep became difficult to handle. The church slowly deteriorated, and its furniture and fittings were distributed to other churches.

Fortunately, today Old Church, Dunlewey, stands as a beautiful, well-kept ruin under the curacy of three adjacent parishes.

This church, born out of love, is located at the foot of Errigal Mountain overlooking the Poisoned Glen. Would you like to visit Old Church, Dunlewey, and its gorgeous surroundings now? ♥
