Judy, I was pretty sure you were just being cute, but since I wasn't absolutely positive, I had to say what I did.
You do exactly what I do- re: ".... I pretend to correct and lecture my dearest of friends, and we have a good laugh."
I love that kind of fun. :-)
My hand isn't getting any better so chances are that I'll only be posting comments on puzzles for now on. That's ok with me...for now. I'm just getting used to it, and it's not that bad. :-)
Josie, you are very welcome and thanks for letting me know you like my puzzles. I've only been creating a couple of months, so that could explain how you've missed them/ I don't post everyday and am having eye surgery, so work on my older puzzles if I'm unable to contribute for awhile.
I don't scroll through the puzzles, so I never saw yours, they are wonderful, you are now on my favorites list, I hate it when I miss good puzzle makers. Thank you
Wendy, that was me acting as a virtual mother/referee. I know it was all in fun, so please don't go serious on me. I don't want to censor my humor.
We don't know each other well, but I pretend to correct and lecture my dearest of friends, and we have a good laugh. It tends to shock at first, but they know my personality now and it's all good. So, you have my permission to carry on like children, and I hope I have permission to go into police mode. I enjoy you both so much. Now get busy and post some great stuff, just in case I'm able to go online tomorrow. That's a bit optimistic with just one eye working, but I love believing I can. Stay cool and don't drool.
Judy, I think you should make me sit in the corner to think about how badly behaved I was.
About those empty boxes- isn't there a saying that it is "the thought that counts"? I have to tell you that I never really liked that saying because I agree with you that empty boxes are not the most exciting gift in the world.
However, in this case, the boxes were for you to store your toys in. The boxes are useful, and they were going to be very attractive boxes....boxes that you'd want to put on display. Now you're not getting them.
I did apologize to PJ privately about my motives re the umbrella and she accepted my apology with grace.
What I was meaning to say about the joy and friendship is that we get that from you every day, or at least every day that you're online, so you didn't really need to box it up and give it as a present. I love that you are the way you are and appreciate it immensely. So there.
Now children, settle down. Judy likes peace in her room and this sounds like either an argument or a competition. Mind your manners. You both received nice gifts, and they were given to make you feel special. Instead, Wendy is going to return my random act of kindness with empty boces Thanks for sticking up for me PJ. Wendy, I hope you will apologize for threatening to poke PJ with your umbrella. PJ's giftwas different perhaps, but she was more pleased with the joy and friendship that accompanied the gift.. That should be food for thought. I tried to make everyone happy. Wendy, please don't advertise that you have enough joy and friendship; what if people want to respect that by walking out of your life? Now let's all play nice and emjoy one another...always and forever more.
Hugs to both of you!
PJ, I had to reread the comments here. Judy forgot what she put in the gift box, but her best guess was that it was an umbrella. So you must have gotten the umbrella.
I see Judy's gift as one of joy and friendship - there is no need to open it (just feel the friendship).
Wendy - when there is a storm warning, umbrellas are usually useless - they blow away / turn over. (Maybe the gift of friedship will keep you warm enough?)
PJ
Judy, especially in the beginning, I would create something, but would absolutely forget how I 'got there.' But what I found was that the more I used an editing program, the more I would sort of get the same effect, and then eventually come to know exactly how I got a certain effect. I can just say that the best thing to do is to keep playing with the different programs. Have fun.
As far as your gift wrapping is concerned, I think it was really nice of you to surprise us with its beauty, but then pretty mean of you to not let us know what we got. Didn't you say "A Gift to All..."?
For your birthday, I'm going to give you a bunch of empty boxes. Yes, they'll have beautiful wrappings but nothing inside. I'll see how you like that.
Kirsten, thank you so much for the nice complement. Over a month ago, my program did something lovely that I have not been able to repeat, and I've tried every trick I know to get it to do it again, because it was something I could use regularly. I can just picture you under the tree with gleeful eyes looking at the packages. Nice image.
Now, Wendy, I think you are hilarious. I never thought about the umbrella protecting the wrapping! Now that was just a guess, and I have heard no other suggestions, so umbrella it must be, although it would mean it's a folding one; otherwise it would not fit in the package (unless it's a scaled-down picture). Hopefully it can withstand a hurricane. Is that true abt the weather? If so, hope you don't lose electricity. Then you can't share your wit with us. Have you ever had your program have a mind of its own and do something that will remain a mystery for eternity? Of course everyone would get bored if I were repetitious, so the gift wrapping may remain unresolved to the betterment of all mankind.
Thanks Judy! I had the experience of a little kid on Christmas day, who has more fun with the wrapping, or the box, than whatever was inside. What a delight! I hope you stumble over whatever it was that you used to create this again. And thanks for the fun. :)))
PJ, I am feeling a bit better, today, but now you make me feel superb! Thank you for such kind remarks. I truly appreciate your thoughtfulness, my friend.
Oh Judy, the puzzle is marvelous, thank you so much for the 'gift'. It is a dream gift wrapping.
Judy, I think you have found the famous 'spirit of giving', the giving is the wonderful gift - the umbrella is irrelevant.
Thank you all for the entertaining commenting.
PJ
Wendy, I can't figure out how to open it! I should know what's inside, since I wrapped it, but, alas, that is not the case. I decided we could all share in the unveiling, but I guess I made the veil too complicated. Let me know if you get yours open, If not, give me your best guess.
As for the 365 day marathon, you may as well poison my food. I'd be dead by the time I tried, not succeeded mind you,to pull off such a stunt. You get what you get when you get it. You won't starve, there are many more talented people than me donating a virtual feast daily. In other words, I'm not falling for it. I think you and Francine can do a joint project by splitting the number between the two of you. If you want to recruit others, but wait, they alreay are.... You silly goose.
Francine, so would you like Judy to make you a puzzle a day for the next 364 days? It does seem like a reasonable request. You gave me an idea though. Maybe Judy can get permission to post 365 puzzle presents for me, all on one day (instead of the 4/8 limit).
Judy, are you saying that you don't know what's in the gift box? I can't believe that you haven't opened it yet.
Thanks to you both. The secret to this creation is unknown to me. I was playing with my program and it morphed into this. I doubt I could recreate it if I wanted. So, your gift is definitely an original, never to be repeated, puzzle design. I kinda liked it, so decided to share. If you figure out how to unwrap it, please let me know. I'm at a loss there, too. Thanks Wendy and Francine. Now for the non-birthdays, hmmmm....
Judy, this gift REALLY looks like a gift! I don't know how the heck you created this but it sure looks like something that people would want on their birthday. :-)
