I read a lot, I know the saying, and you're right! I had three other people tell me they wanted it. Two men just stopped communicating when I tried to set up a date for them to pick it up. At least the woman told me she wasn't going to be able to get it. These guys were great!

I’d call that a “red letter” day!
(Maybe that’s just a Southern expression?)

Ginni2

They picked up the entertainment center, so hurray, it is a great day! :-)

Teagardener

You have a packed Saturday :)

Ginni2

I am taking a new trail patroller out for a walk this morning, Tea, and then someone is supposed to come pick up a big entertainment center I've been trying to give away for over a month now. If the entertainment center goes, it will be a great day! I don't have room for it in the new house and I hate to have to send it to the dump. Hope you have a great Saturday too!

G’morning Ginni,
It’s exactly like knowing the names of flowers, old classic cars, songbirds, famous athletes . . when you passionately enjoy something you have an interest in, then it’s so much easier to remember names😃
Have a great Saturday!

I'm glad you like it, Tea. I've been doing trail patrol for over 12 years. That's when I started getting interested in birds, at least the big ones that sit still for photos. The first time I saw a gallinule I googled "red-billed coot" and found photos with that as their name. I don't remember when I learned the real name, as I don't see them often. I'm not too good with the little birds, though!

Teagardener

How did you ever learn so many water bird names!?!
A fun puzzle, thank you :)

Ginni2

Glad you like him, Jacki. He was so cooperative (for a gallinule), darting in and out of the reeds. There were also a couple of juvenile coots about the same age and it took me a while to realize this was a gallinule. Behavior was a big part of it, but they look a bit different too.

WOW! Lucky You! abulous catch!! Thank you!!

Ginni2

Glad you like it, Ardy. I was thrilled. I've never seen a young gallinule before.

Ginni2

True, Ed. Momma was nearby and they never fussed at each other like the coots do.

Safe and protected by the reeds. Sweet photo. Thanks, Ginni.
