Ruby, my repairman told me that a few people were happy with Windows10, but the vast majority were not.
And I would seriously question just why Microsoft is trying so hard to give this system away for "free". Surely that should ring alarm bells. ♥♥♥

Just a little note re. Windows 10. I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. I did like XP, but have Windows 7. The expert I had said Windows 8 would not suit me at all, and he was right. It annoys me that Microsoft keep trying to throw it in one's face via pop-ups!
Have friends who are at their wits end with 10.............. :-)

Pat, it was not the downloading of Windows10 which was the problem. Though this did take many, many hours, it was relatively easy to follow. It was when I arrived at my final destination, the use of Windows10, that the problems started. It has programs and procedures within it which simply do not work properly, if at all. It presents you with unexpected errors that I found to be "unfixable". For example, when drawing on photos within My Pictures for use on jigidi, it decided to turn my perfectly upright photos SIDEWAYS. There was no way to rectify this, even using the Rotation button. I just kept continually coming up against these sorts of things and, after nine days of persevering, I gave up, and got my repairman to take me back to Windows7.
I'm sure Microsoft will eventually get all the gremlins out of it, but it's going to take a long time. Now I know why they are giving it away for free - it's simply not worth a cracker!! :-))) ♥♥♥

Nev -- I'll share a secret: I am still happily running on Windows 7, also. I figure my computer is like me; getting a little older, a little slower, probably a little out of date, but reliable. Who needs more at the moment? :-)

I'll get around to Windows 10, or 12, or whatever, when they get around to making it understandable and, yes, reliable!

Jill, there are folk who love Windows10 and are not having problems with it. But my repairman said these are in the minority, as he is presently being flooded with work, all problems caused by downloading Windows10.
I'm pleased that the system you are on works efficiently, and you are happy with it. Ease of use is important, and provides contentment for the operator. We all like to be "happy little campers"! :-)))
I think in years to come, when updates and support is no longer provided for earlier Microsoft systems, Windows10 will eventually become the major operating system. But by then, they'll have all the errors/problems solved, and it will be running smoothly. ♥♥♥

Hello, Pat. Always great to see you. It was quicker, easier and cheaper to have Windows10 completely removed and revert to Windows7 than to muck about trying to fix all the faults I had with Windows10. So I am back on Windows7 again, and grateful that my repairman could resurrect it without a single problem.
From my point of view, your son is right: "Don't do it." It is best to wait until they get all the 'glitches' out of it, maybe 12-18 months down the track. My repairman is inundated with work at present from faults/errors solely caused by Windows10.
Got enough flowers for two a day till the end of the month, and then taking a one-week holiday in early Feb. That should provide us with a new set of photos upon our return, about the 10th. ♥♥♥

Jackie, your brother-in-law is very smart, and you should heed his advice. Do not touch Windows10, as it is causing many people lots of problems. I'm delighted to be back with Windows7, as its a great system. I had Windows XP before that, and it was a great system too.

I think Microsoft has made a big mistake in the direction they are taking. When I bought my laptop it came with Windows 8, and I hated it so much. It's so cluttered with useless nonsense, and it's so hard to find anything, even just how to shut it down. I switched to a Linux operating system, and have never looked back. Windows 7, XP and Vista were all great, but I think eventually everyone will be forced to "upgrade" to Windows 10.

Nev -- glad to see you back. Did you get Windows 10 fixed or did you just kick it off your system? I keep getting the little notice that my special, reserved copy of W10 is ready for me, and my son (who knows a lot more about computers than I do) keeps saying, "Don't do it. When has Microsoft ever come out with something good and workable first time around?" I know several other people who have been just as disappointed and frustrated as you, so I'm waiting. I'm usually a version or two behind on software, but at least it works when it goes on my system. Anyway, glad you got past that little rock in the stream, and delighted to see you still posting with the promise of more. :-D -- Pat

Mijn computer reparateur vertelde me dat hij krijgt een enorme hoeveelheid werk op dit moment vanwege alle problemen die de nieuwe Windows 10 wordt veroorzaakt. Dus wat betekent dat u vertellen over de kwaliteit van Windows10 !! Ik ben zo blij dat hij in staat om me terug naar Windows7 krijgen zonder enige hik was. ♥♥♥

Raaike this is a gorgeous flower, and so rich in colour.
My computer repairman told me that he is getting an enormous amount of work at present because of all the problems that the new Windows10 is causing. So what does that tell you about the quality of Windows10!! I'm just so pleased that he was able to get me back to Windows7 without any hiccups. ♥♥♥

Andie, I'm pleased to be back too, and not having to 'fight' a user-unfriendly system anymore. It will be two postings of flowers each day for the rest of the month, before we go on holidays the first week of February.
This Geisha Girl had been in for several years and was doing O.K. when we learnt that Janet hacked all of hers back once a year. So, Marge gave ours a "haircut" to try and improve it. And by haircut, I don't mean a "trim" - it was a very very short "crewcut". It did wonders. The bush has come back bigger and better than ever, with more and richer coloured flowers. I can see this "crewcut" happening for every year from now on. ♥♥♥

nev glad too hear you back on line. I've hear nothing good, about windows 10. in fact yesterday my brother-in-law told me (never) too hit the button too install it. you picture is so pretty love the color. have a wonderful day.hugs

Hi there Nev, so good to have you back again. I had no option with the Windows 10 as the 8.1 was driving me insane. It was either download 10 or take the computer back! I must admit I'm really pleased with the 10 and love it now, although it did take some getting used to especially after having Vista for so many years. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones.

I'm so pleased you have your 7 back and are happy with that. I shall look forward to more of Marge's lovely garden. Hugs my friend ♥♥♥

Greetings everyone, I am back again, much quicker than I anticipated. I handed my computer over to Michael, an ace repairer in Blacktown just a few miles away, this morning at 9:00am and I received it back this afternoon at 4:00pm. That's service for you. I honestly expected to be away for days.
To explain, I upgraded from Windows7 to Windows10 about nine days ago, and had nothing but problems after that. I asked Michael if he could remove Windows10 for me and return me to Windows7. He said he could, so I gave him the go-ahead. This cost me $49, but it was the best money I ever spent.
Everything is working properly again, same as previously on Windows7, and I am so elated that you wouldn't believe.
Michael said to me that most of his current work concerns correcting faults with software in Windows10, and said from what he has already seen, he wouldn't recommend it. There's just too many problems surfacing, and they are many and varied. And he let slip that his repair shop works solely on Windows7, "by far the best system" he said.
I always answer all comments individually, but for this puzzle I hope you don't mind if I thank you collectively as a group for all your good wishes:- Dee, Belle, Andie, Pasta, Janet, Jill and Jacki. I do appreciate the strong support of every one of you, be assured.
I'll be back again tomorrow with two more flower puzzles for you, now that I can properly access My Pictures once again, in a standard manner. Love youse all!! ♥♥♥

Nev, I know how terrible it can be as I had the most awful days with my new computer and Windows 8.1 and I wanted my old Vista back. It was like a nightmare and made me so upset. Then I downloaded 10 and it worked like a dream. I am SO sorry yours is not working well., Good luck with getting it fixed, my friend.

I felt like throwing my tower down the yard and then going and stomping on it, so I well know that terribly frustrated feeling.

Andie I lost no files at all, as I already had all my photos on etc, and lost nothing with Windows 10. My brother-in-law has 10 but he had his professionally installed. Maybe I was lucky but I do love it now that I'm used to it. It was a huge learning curve from my dear old Vista.

Nev,I'm so sorry.
We are being offered to have it installed for free and because of my old versions of Open Office I haven't installed it yet in case I can't use them any longer and lose all my data ...So I think I'll wait and see..
I hope your repairman will fix things for you very quickly ,such a shame ! And we will definitely miss you !

This will be my last posting until further notice.
I am going offline and will be remaining so until my computer repairman can fix all my problems with Windows10. I've had nothing but trouble with it since installation, and it has worn out its welcome here. I'm just so tired of 'fighting' it all the time.
