So the old turntable ferry is still running! That would definitely be my choice for an adventure. Maybe someday. Do you live in the area? If you don't mind my asking....

The proper way to cross is of course the old turntable ferry still running .the Glenahulish at Glenelg - Kylerhea. Its now run as a community venture!

Have you been over that bridge? I will look it up on the internet, but someday I want to be there!

OR TYPE IN - SKYE BRIDGE,KYLE OF LOCHALSH" AND THEN YOU CAN SEE THE BRIDGE!

I should like to see that bridge to Skye! Thank you, Bramcan.

A bridge now connects Skye to the mainland , built in 1995, it was a toll bridge but now is free ...

I am fascinated by this turntable ferry. Does it still run? How does one get to Skye now?

Only one turntable ferry left the Glenahulish on the Glenelg Kylehrea service to skye

Very interesting picture, something that many of us have never seen or experienced. Thank you for posting.
