Why are you reporting this puzzle?

She was a lovely girl, this one. My German Shorthair Pointer was a smart, sweet and athletic diva. She will be missed by all who knew her; but, she has to be in Heaven, chasing "Angel Squirrels."

I clicked on "Post" before thanking everyone! I'm making a lot of "typos" with hand being a bit out of order! It's getting better every day.

Oasis, sorry I have been so slow to respond to your lovely gesture to send the poem. I'm recovering from hand surgery so using the computer has been out (it refused to boot up at first and I finally gave up and bought a new one), I sent the poem out as an email to all in my address book. Thanks so much. Carole

Jane D, thank you, too...for your thoughts. Dogs are special. This one was probably the best I ever owned.

Your special pal will live on for many years in your heart...you were both fortunate to have each other. In case you are not familiar with the Rainbow Bridge poem, I've included it here...All the best to you, classof54gal.

RAINBOW BRIDGE

Just this side of Heaven is a place called ‘Rainbow Bridge’.

When an animal dies who has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

There is another angel in heaven.

Carole, I am so sad for you. Our 4-legged babies are a HUGE part of our families. Wish I had the perfect comforting thing to say. Across the Rainbow Bridge she has gone.

RebeccaB

I'm sorry. Try to remember all the smiles she gave you.

PenSet

You kept her healthy for fifteen years. That's amazing! I know it's really hard, but kudos to you for being such intelligent owners!

It’s wonderful to reminisce about our 4 legged family members! I’m glad you could enjoy her for so many years. Thank you for sharing.

Plumpossum

I never met her, but felt that I knew her because of all the good things you said about her. Good dogs never really die; they live on in the hearts of their masters.

I'm so sorry about your baby. They are members of our family.

TucsonTerry

Sorry for your loss.. :-( Such a beautiful girl.
