Why are you reporting this puzzle?

I wish.... this weekend we're probably experiencing a Siberian Bear AGAIN! (just like in early 2018, only this time it probably will even be colder with centimetres of S.N.O.W. :(((
Fingers crossed forecast is terribly WRONG! ☺

Maybe that's for the best, Marilyn, one day all this will (hopefully soon) be over.
It would be lovely and I'll keep my fingers crossed that you can go and visit your granddaughter's first birthday!♥

canoekaw

I have not been riding. There are many school-age students who take lessons and ride their own horse. I decided it best I stay away.

Impie

Het kwam zelfs vanmiddag even boven 0°!

Since yesterday sunny here too, Faye. Today there was hardly any wind and mid afternoon it even became above 0°C. We only needed to heat the water in the box (under the plant pot) twice today!!

Brr, Marilyn, after the weekend weather in my part of the country has improved, it's still chilly, but since yesterday we also have had sun all day! But the streets are still covered in -frozen- snow!
Do you still ride Jewel or must you stay away from her due to Corona rules?

LOL Rebecca....glad you found them, I had forgotten where I hid them....senior moment???

To all: keep well and stay safe and warm! ♥☺♥

RebeccaB

I don't watch the weather much, unless trash day is coming up! We have temps. in the single digits for a few days, then several more still below freezing. Thankfully, no wind.

Atsutsa

@RebeccaB : so funny. Did you look at "our" weather forecast? Here it will be in the 60s (F) for today and tomorrow continuing our "warm" but Friday: 50s, Saturday: 40s and Sunday near 39. Yikes, my aching bones! Well, maybe next week will bring Spring for real?

RebeccaB

Your Easter eggs are already coming up!

canoekaw

We will experience days of arctic weather with snow as well this week. I asked the stable to bring in my old friend so I can put a warm winter blanket on her. I want her in a stall so any moisture on her can dry before I put her warm winter blanket on.

gemstone

Sunny here today but really windy yesterday, last night, and a bit today...below freezing temperatures predicted for this week. We plugged in the heater for our big feeder last night and brought the little one in overnight.

Lia

Impie

I'm sorry to hear you have snow as well, GG....an inch or two are two too many as far as I'm concerned.LOL
It started snowing last night and it's still snowing, it's more like powerdered sugar, but with the constant snow fall and the fierceful wind pushing it up we have several 'snow dunes' in the garden of which some are abt. 15 to 20 cms (7" ?)
It's -4°C. right now, but it feels like -15°C.
Liertje took the peanut containers and the millet inside last night (because of the nightfrost) and hung it up early this morning! Snowed under and frozen peanuts and millet aren't on our menu! :-))
Your daffodils will survive, when it gets too cold they just stop growing and as soon as temps go up, they'll continue where they left! ♥

GOSPELGRANDMA

Our temps will be plummeting here as well, Impie! It just started to snow, but we're only supposed to have an inch or two. There are some Daffidols coming up in the yard. They are confused! Good night!! ?

Impie

Lia

See!! I remember 2010 January, and you remember Jan 2013!! ...
To be honest: In 2011 up to 2017 I spent my winters in Spain!! So I don't know of bad winters during those years! In the winter of 2009 - 2010 my husband was very ill and died. So it easy to remember the weather then too!!

Impie

Yes, Lia, but also January 2013 we had piles of snow staying almost all month! I have photos of Goofie up to his armpits in the snow!☺

Stay safe and warm and take care!

Lia

Impie, I think the next days will remember us also of the winter of 2009 - 2010. Then it was, snow, snow, snow and coooooold!!!
Now it will only last a week at most (they say!!).
For my part of the country (eastern part of Holland) a lot of snow is forecasted and temps down to -12C. We're not used to that any more, are we!!

Your flowers will cope. Crocusses and snowbells are wonderful as they don't care for snow, rain or sun!!! They tell us: spring will come, how ever long it takes!!

Sterkte de komende dagen!!

Impie

You can count yourself lucky then, Faye, I thought we could too, but this Siberian Bear just had to desturb that thought....what a spoil sport.:))
For my Bonica it should be better to get a bit of a rest before it's pruning time. Thank you, I'll try and you too, stay safe!❤️❤️❤️ :))

Yes, Patsy, it's always a joy to see the Crocus, Daffodils and the little Snowdrops come up and flower, but if "The Bear" gets its way, we won't see much of them when they'll get covered in a layer of S.N.O.W. ... I keep hoping to wake up and find it was just a bad dream I had :-)))

Every day some more colour is added, Ella. A flowering pear???..that's really amazing, though I don't think it would survive the cold we're supposed to get overhere. I'm glad your Camellias are also getting ready to bloom. I discovered 3 new pink flowers in my Camellia yesterday and 5 coloring buds of which one dark pink. All the other buds are still green/white. I have a photo (in the link) of my Camellia plant taken from one side. On the other side (behind the Spruce) there are 2 pink flowers and several opened pinking up buds ready to become a flower. In total now 6 flowers have come in bloom already!!

@generic_bear2 - Uptil now I was also glad I live where I live....we haven't had the long cold winters for decades which I remember as a child. I keep hoping the cold that is predicted won't come, story is that it will get so cold it will feel like -20°C. ...that's not something to look forward to! I'm pleased you like my Crocus photo and I hope your Crocus will colour up nicely too. Thank you and you too take care!

Hope you all will have a nice weekend ! ♥

I am glad I live HERE!!! I have visited many places in the U.S., and have family in many parts of the U.S. But I will VISIT them in the summer, too cold for me!!! I live in the North West, and my bulbs are just starting to show up. I will think happy thoughts for all of you who are snowed under!!! Take care, and thanks Impie, for sharing your crocus! There is a house about 6 miles or so from here that when the Crocus are in bloom their front, sideS and back yard are COVERED with Crocus! It is incredible to see! And last year they Crocus were moving into the neighbors yards!! LOL (Wish I were a neighbor!) LOL

EllaMB

Aw, yes, the signs of Spring are beginning to show! This morning I saw a flowering pear tree in bloom on my way back from the bank. I also noticed my Camillias are getting ready to bloom any time now.

beyondwords

So good to see flower buds in February. Hope everything survives for you and we'll see more pictures.
Here in Calgary it's now -20°C and snowing. Usually we don't get severe cold and snow together, but the next few days will be even colder and more snow tomorrow. Happy to stay inside and enjoy my cats and houseplants till Sunday, when I need to go out on an errand.

gemstone

I guess I shouldn't complain about our gray, wet days...they beat freezing temps! Hope your bulbs, pansies, and gazanias survive. Guess your bonica will finally have a rest. Stay safe. ❤️❤️❤️

Impie

Yeah, Betty....like you say NUTS!☺

Yep! At least making plans... looks like we will have basically from Wednesday evening till sometimes Saturday below freezing. NUTS!!!

Impie

Oh No, Betty, not again...YUCK...... It looks like we're all in the same boat!

Our forecast is getting worse with lows in mid teens and a high for a couple of days about freezing AND a chance of S.N.O.W. YUCK!

Impie

LOL, Meadowlark, those stones are hydro grains. They come from the pot planter my son emptied in this spot of the garden. They keep the soil moist!:)

Yes, Anne, I hope so too....just when I thought Spring was about to make its' entrance we'll get this. I so hope they got it all wrong!
The "egg" shaped balls are hydro grains. They were in the tub Liertje made the "Lasagna" in last year. After all plants were done, Liertje took the tub to the back garden and kept the Crocus bulbs which he planted here and there in the back garden. After all the other bulbs were taken out he filled up the ground with the left over soil (waist not want not) hence the hydo grains came with it!
After the event is behind us I'll update on the ones that have survived...hopefully many if not all! ☺

Impie

I'm afraid so, Nancy. Crocus and the other bulb plants will (hopefully) stop and survive snow and cold, but I'm not sure about my Gazanias. We'll take the pots inside and put them in the loft for the time being, but we can't with the Gazanias in my pergola planter, it will be a matter of 'will have to wait and see'....:))

Yes, Betty, in 2018 with that terrible Siberian Bear, some of my plants froze to death!:( Right now the wind comes from south-west and it's 8°C. but there's also a wind coming from east and they're likely to collide somewhere in the middle of the country and the prediction is that east will win and blow the cold front over us accompanied by S.N.O.W. and frost......Gggrr :)

Hi Bren,"the Beast from the East" is also a good description.☺ We did have some small rainshowers today, we even had some sunshine for a short while, but mostly it was a grey day without much wind. But the wind will increase in the weekend and if the cold east wind wins, it will push itself over our country right to you, I suppose. That also happened in 2018! I've done more shoppings than usual and filled my freezer, so if worse come to worst I'll only be getting out in my garden to feed the birds and then quickly back inside with the heater on 20°C. :))
You too, keep safe, thanks!

Atsutsa

Wow! amazing but sad news for the weekend. What are the little "egg" shaped balls on the ground? I was frequently amazed that my early Spring bulbs were able to survive a brief frost. Hope that will be true for you.

Meadowlark

Your brown stones look almost like eggs whose mother has abandoned them. Suffer the children.

Brie1648

Spring is on the way but we too are expecting the Beast from the East this weekend. We are shrouded by thick fog tonight but Sunday we are supposed to have snow - the first for us this year. Keep safe if it hits you first. The wind is definitely from the east brrrr

Sounds like it is getting cold around here as well middle of next week. Here's hoping for a glancing blow for everyone and we can send it back to take care of the North Pole!

calluna

Oh noooo! Love seeing the crocus come up. :-))

Nachtwacht

Ik zie vooral borrelnootjes in je tuin ... ;-)))
