And thanks for the vote of confidence on the grandma gig - I relish the thought of it!! ;-))

parrotman22

Kate, whatever happens in the future I want to just go on as normal with laughter and humour that we share! :-))

I bet you will make a great grandmom! ;-))

katwoody99

Michelle, indeed your Raveh is absolutely adorable! I know you are in heaven surrounded by grand babies!!! One of my very best friends just became a grandmother last week, and one of my first cousins found out he will be a grandfather this fall. These are the first people really close to me to reach grandparenthood and I am so thrilled for them. As for me - who knows?! My dear girl, pictured above, and her hubby are taking advantage of this time of their life to do a lot of exciting things. I'm pretty sure they want children 'one day' - just no idea when that will be! LOL!!

katwoody99

Tons of hugs to you, dear John! And I love and totally echo Michelle's bright and sparkling message - (hey, those words came to mind before remembering her user name is Bright + Spark)!!! You are also our bright spark, John, and so many warm and caring thoughts are going out to you each and every day!!!

parrotman22

Thanks again, Michelle. Your home sounds as if it is going to be a bit hectic!! Enjoy and thanks for the hugs! :-)) I'll take hugs from you too Kate!! ;-))

Totally understand your point of view (hope the scenery is the best!)

parrotman22

Best way forward. I'll still let you know anything important.

katwoody99

It's a deal!! ;-)))

parrotman22

Cheers, Kate. It's going to be a tough journey but let's keep happy and forget about the "C" word! ;-)))

katwoody99

That's the spirit, John - you're such a winner!! :-))

parrotman22

Thanks for that, Skippy. Even if the Doc can operate, I'm not sure if I want to go through another bout of long surgery and recovery. I had 14hr ops in 2008 and 2013 so there is the dilemma. We'll see what he says and I will let you know. I'm not going to be down about it so lots of funny comments, please! :-))

parrotman22

Cwtch, Kate, but well remembered. Of course I will let you know how things go. :-))

skpy

John, I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope that the doctor has some better news next Thursday.

katwoody99

Sigh... thank you for letting me know. Sending you those Welsh cuddles you sent me before (can't find the word - something like kutch). Keep me posted; hugs.

parrotman22

Kate, I had biopsy 10days ago and they phoned today to let me know that the cancer is back. I see my surgeon next Thursday and will let you know what he has to say. I was expecting that it felt like cancer rather than a false alarm.

katwoody99

It really is a fitting name - once I saw, I couldn't believe it had never occurred to me!! LOL!!

Ah yes those were the days ... sad they're gone but so glad we had them, right?!

Go Wales tomorrow!!!

parrotman22

Yes, it's lovely to get the freedom that nice weather brings. I wish that we had hummingbirds over here. They are magical!!

Now I think of it Disco Biscuits is a clever name for drugs! LOL

I know the Grateful Dead (wonderful) but not heard of the others.

..............with my long hair and white Strat!! Those were the days! :-))

katwoody99

The garden is the place to be! We are starting to have a few nice days - so welcome after what has seemed a long, rainy, gloomy winter! Our bunny rabbit has returned to the back yard, which is such a thrill. Next month will be time to put out the hummingbird feeder; they are the best!

You will chuckle a lot when you look up Disco Biscuits! Glad I didn't know the origin of the name while Care was still in college; disco biscuits are also a club drug, I think related to ecstasy. The band is one of those with a real devoted fan base that follows them around the country for concerts; think The Grateful Dead, and more recently Widespread Panic, Phish, and String Cheese Incident. Never on the radio! :-))) I would have enjoyed seeing you tear it up on the guitar!!

parrotman22

It's good that she's using an instructor. I learnt classical guitar to a few years ( I didn't really like it cos I loved electric guitar) but it was a great basis for my noisy guitarwork!! LOL I'll have to look up Disco Biscuits as I've never heard of them. We're having some great weather here so I'm in the garden quite a lot. :-)))

katwoody99

It's hard to say, John! She's been exposed to all of it, because I always had something on the stereo, genre's from A to Z. She and Robin followed the "electronic music" for years, which is a genre I never explored. I think some of that was reactionary against the over-commercialized pop music. They latched on to The Disco Biscuits and will probably always love them. But, I think she's re-broadening her horizons lately. Her instructor has her starting with some classic funk bass lines, some of the 70's stuff that I adore!!

parrotman22

She'll go far with the "attitude" pose!! LOL. What music does she like/?

katwoody99

:-)))

skpy

That's too funny! I can picture a 4 year old infatuated with pink cowboy boots!

katwoody99

Thanks Skippy! Made me think of her pink cowgirl boots when she was 4! :-))
