The Governor's bedroom...Fort Louisbourg

Link to information on Fort Louisbourg:

In June we travelled by rail from Vancouver (British Columbia) to Montreal (Quebec) where we spent five nights. We then took an overnight train to Moncton (New Brunswick). Next we drove to Prince Edward Island, Cape Breton (Nova Scotia), and flew home from Halifax.

You'll be joining me in the Bastille! ;DDD

I'm known to be a rebel rouser, Faye. :)

I think that would be considered seditious talk, Suzy. Better watch out! ;DDD

They could have made him sleep in the tent like the rest of us!!!!!! :)

The Governor was the King's representative, he gets "posh"...although being stuck in the New World in a Cape Breton winter without double-paned windows, insulation, carpets, and lots of fireplaces isn't my concept of posh! LOL ;D

Brilliant, looks positively luxurious :-)

No, I haven't, Ardy. There are suites in really old English hotels where you can sleep in a canopy/four poster bed but we've never been willing to spend the extra dollars. I think canopy beds were originally used in thatched cottages to stop all the creepy crawlers that lived in the thatch from falling on you at night. In that case, I would DEMAND a canopy! LOL As this is not a four poster with curtains to enclose the bed, you'd probably be okay, Ardy. As a matter of fact, in this era, you'd fit right in in some countries as the beds were really short because people slept sitting up, leaning against the headboard. ❤️

Have you ever slept in a canopy bed, Faye? I wonder if it would bother my claustrophobia. I don;t like being "hemmed in." Nice room. Thanks, ♥
