A westbound afternoon run of Deseret Power Railway climbs out of Mormon Gap, Colorado, with 44 cars of coal for the Bonanza Power Plant, on October 21, 2015. Three GE E60 electrics are digging in on the steep grade climbing into Coyote Basin approaching milepost 21.

We here in Arizona, also used to have a railroad like this, called the Black Mesa & Lake Powell. It was very much the same as this one, and served the same purpose, until the power plant shut down, and the coal was no longer needed. Thanks, alansnell.
