Why are you reporting this puzzle?

Frigid temperatures have made it a banner year for bald eagle watchers along the Mississippi River this year. This photo was taken near Lock and Dam No. 18 across the river from Burlington, Iowa. The tree holds nine eagles, including several juveniles, which are still primarily brown without their signature white (or bald) head.

You're right, Kossamu, the bald eagles are stunning, especially at this close range. My husband and I have been going eagle watching for many years now and both of us agreed that this was a banner year for watching. Seeing (and hearing) 50-60 eagles in flight at one time thrilling.

Stunning to be able to see this gorgeous birds at close range and so many of them..Wow :-)).. I’ve been watching two Eagle nests in Florida and soon the Decorah eagles will share their eaglets..Thanks Toto! ❤️❤️

Suzy, I was trying to describe the difference between seeing eagle soaring in the distance and seeing 70 or 80 eagles in the air at one time and the best I came up with was visiting Disneyworld by watching it on TV and visiting it in person. The same type of deeply visceral reaction when you see a total eclipse for the first time.

Seeing a solitary eagle is a treat....to see so many....well....the treat is multiplied many times over. How exciting for you and Jack to experience this, Kate. Thank you!

It sounds magical!

We had to park and walk in on frozen roads to get a good viewing point on the river, Lorna. While walking down this narrow, rutted frozen lane, we looked up and stood in amazement as we realized we were walking under trees full of majesty.

Wonderful sight Kathleen, and here I am thinking how special it would be to see just one!
