The trick @Isaly2 is to sort out the uglies and choose your color palette, THEN start grabbing things. I might not wear these colors together but they sure make a fine quilt, um, painting! π
I love the bright/bold colors in this. I have made a quilt where I would just grab the first piece of material first and keep going like that. Can't say I was that impressed with it. Like you Gail, I like more control that that.
It's all about the process. You go from one decision to the next without a lot of preplanning like a traditional quilt. Some people even keep the scraps in a bag and put together whatever comes out, but I like a little more control than that. Guys do it too, you know! π
It's hard to say @srk777 My first impression was of an innovative quilt. I wanted to make one!
They took a purple square and cut it in half and inserted the black and white print. Then they cut the black strip in half, and inserted it into the light orange and sewed it to the purple block. Next, they took a red square and stuck it at the end of the black bar on the left, added a strip above that, and more red below. On top, they added the light-colored piece with the marks and squared off that section. We now have a less than perfect square!
