When I was growing up you could NOT embarrass yourself or your host if given something you knew your stomach would not appreciate. You MUST eat a portion. How I suffered. I'm glad those days are over!
I don't have enough knowledege of English to get the meaning of the joke. Anyway, thanks, dear Jaklien and have a New Year full of health and Peace! Stay safe!
Oh Carol, I understand you so well! In my youth we had to eat what the pot boiled: that or nothing! That's also how I raised my children and they are not picky.
Of course, I understand the people who have to follow a diet by doctor's order.
This is so true. Ask any server. No meat, no seafood, no GMO, lactose intolerant issues, and on and on. Good thing I am not a server.......I might be unkind and suggest they bring their own "grass" next time or perhaps do their own cooking. :)))))))))))))) No disrespect to those with dietary issues.........
@jerrys I think it's a fine answer too! Here winter is not yet in the country, we have at the moment, calculated in F, about 45°F. It has already frozen a total of four times, wow, and sleet/snow are -fortunately- still far away. Just dress warmly ;-)
@Jaklien My reaction exactly! It is about 30 degrees here at 6:30AM and will descend into the upper teens this afternoon. We may get a dusting of snow along the way. Br-r-r-r-r!
