My Walnut Tree

I didn't know that walnuts have a green outer shell. I guess one learns something new every day.

that's a beautiful tree. i have 2 black walnuts. i got 2 seedlings in 1 pound coffee cans at a garage sale. they are now huge, and drop lots of nuts every fall. but i still haven't found a decent way to harvest the nuts, although i've tried all the old stories about how to do it. my walnut trees are about 75' away my vegie garden and last spring i had to pull 50 seedlings out of those beds. they grow like crazy, if they are happy. enjoy yours.

We were given a sack of walnuts from a friend. She was a very generous friend.

I've never seen a walnut tree before. It has such broad leaves.
