Why are you reporting this puzzle?

Like so many of you Jigidi Puzzlers, we at Jigidi love to spend time in gardens all year round, particularly in the warmer months, when nature embraces us and unfolds itself ♥

In Today's Daily Jigsaw Puzzle, we visit the Butchart Gardens in Brentwood Bay, British Columbia, Canada. This acclaimed floral display garden, born from a former limestone quarry, was established by Jennie Butchart in the early 20th century.
Over the years, Jennie transformed the exhausted quarry site into a sprawling 55-acre garden. Today, Butchart Gardens boasts a variety of themed areas, including the Sunken Garden, Rose Garden, Japanese Garden, Italian Garden, and Mediterranean Garden.

Did you know that gardening is an ancient practice, traced back to 10,000 BC during the Neolithic age when humans shifted from nomadic lifestyles to settled agriculture?

One of the earliest recorded gardens was in ancient Egypt around 1500 BC, significant among the affluent for its ornamental and functional roles. The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, dating back to around 600 BC, is also celebrated as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Throughout history, gardens have reflected their times' cultural and social nuances, serving various practical, aesthetic, and symbolic purposes. From medieval Europe's monastic gardens, which supported monks' medicinal and nutritional needs, to the Renaissance period's elaborate ornamental gardens symbolizing status and mastery over nature, gardens have evolved to become complex expressions of beauty and creativity ♥

We used to visit there every year.

Beautiful gardens!

I, too, knew this garden. Only been there once. At the end of our Alaskan cruise. But it is so amazing. Will never forget it. Thank you so much for the beautiful puzzle.

I knew it was a picture of the Butchart Gardens even before I read the information. A friend and I traveled through BC on our way to an Alaska cruise departure. I knew nothing about the gardens, but she made sure they were included on our itinerary. I will always be grateful. Once you've seen them, you'll never forget them.
