We spent over 3 months in our very old RV traveling west of the Mississippi to every place that interested us. I even when skydiving in San Diego. I retired in 2009 and turned 60 while walking through Redwoods National Park. Another magical place. roadrunner22 22 July 2020 I'm glad you're enjoying your retirement - well done & well deserved! sue1 22 July 2020 I agree with you. I taught Science for decades and couldn't wait to visit when I retired....all those places I had taught about. roadrunner22 21 July 2020 I've never been to the Grand Canyon, but my mom did visit when she was young. I really can't wrap my head around its size, geology, history, or splendor. We are lucky to enjoy & appreciate the Canyon. I have often wondered if an unknowing pioneer (or pioneers) heading west stumbled upon this, and thought "Oh no, I can never get around this!" It would certainly be life threatening, even if you could circumvent it, due to limited food/water supplies and the increased time added to the journey. sue1 21 July 2020 Yeah, I loved the cloud shadows. We went out on one of the outcrops and another tourist took a photo of Bill and me. Great shot, I have it on my wall. ringleader 21 July 2020 Beautiful shot, Sue. Wow. The colors in the rocks and the shadows from the clouds. Great. Thanks. Why this advertisement?
