Crickhowell Bridge
Grade I listed scheduled Ancient Monument built in 1706 by the county for the sum of £400. The longest stone bridge in Wales during 1808, a flood destroyed the bridge and a temporary bridge was erected alongside it whilst it was widened and repaired. A feature of the bridge is that there are twelve arches on the upstream side and thirteen on the downstream side. In 1928 extensive repairs were carried out. Further urgent repairs were undertaken in 1979 when heavy modern-day traffic caused cracks to appear in the structure; a temporary Bailey bridge was constructed alongside the old bridge.
