I see that during my trip to Washington state I overlooked some wonderful posts and conversations. I can't tell you how glad I am that I went digging in your library and found this, Audrey. The totally of the beautiful plate, your description of it, and the conversation between you and judiths is amazing and enlightening... about Islam, about Ekankar, and about life and living.

No New Zealand is home for me, but love NYC, thanks.

Ginnyjolly. Actually perhaps Muslims for whom Arabic is not their mother tongue think they are calling God "Allah". . . but it is not God's name. . .is it simply the Arabic word for "God". . .as Dios is used in Spanish and Dieu in French. . .and actually Got (with that double umlot over the "o" and that's where our English word God comes from. . . from the German. In the language of Jesus, God is "Allaha". I love what you say about the Soul existing because of God's love. It brings to heart/mind that Hell is having no Soul connection to God. . . being in a concrete cell cut off from the Divine.

This is a beautiful plate. And personally I think it's something that many people can say truly within their hearts even if they are not Muslim.

Most of us who believe in only one God understand God to be the most high, the holiest of holies, and while other religions hold to many prophets, Muhammed is definitely a prophet of God.

I am of Eckankar and call God Sugmad. In Islam God is called Allah. In other religions God has other names as well. We each have ways to express God within our hearts. In Eckankar we say that everyone is Soul (individually and collectively) and our basic belief is that Soul exists because of God's love for us.
