Now you have the recipe, TIM... I can picture you sewing hot dogs together, late into the night...

nanab

Wilted parsley? It's doggie toe jam.

Juba1010

I think those are wilted parsley which is even more irrelevant. We could just grill some dogs and top them with cole slaw. Skip the whole close encounter thing. But where would the fun be in that? Thanks mpp. :-)

rswestley

Wise choice Bub. You would definitely get a wiser conversation from this stunning crown of frankfurters than you would from TIM. This thought just evoked memories of 'someone' in the distant past wearing a crown of hog dogs, but being Sunday I will keep my sacrilegious comment to myself (but it had the potential to be mildly humorous)

morepiecesplz

nanab - you left out adding the totally irrelevant broccoli florets... just wouldn't be the same...

Bubble

As octopi are as intelligent as most humans, I prefer to converse with this one instead of eating it. ♪♥♥♫

nanab

How to make it
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Arrange frankfurters side by side.
Using large needle and string, sew through frankfurters 1/2 inch from the bottoms.
Sew through frankfurters 1/2 inch from the tops.
Tie strings together at the top making a half circle.
Repeat with bottom string to create another half circle.
Stand circle of frankfurters on end to form "crown".
Fill center of crown with sauerkraut.
Bake filled crown in moderate oven, about 20 minutes.
**Fill crown with stuffing, creamed cabbage, creamed cauliflower or potato balls instead of sauerkraut

I believe that @Juba1010 and @th_counselor win the Internets today...though mpp certainly wins the crowning achievement.

As for me, I'm just "averting my eyes, Oh Lord."

th_counselor

@rswestley Yeah, thats a few too many "tentacles" for me going on right there...lol

rswestley

Aha! There you are th_counselor. When I first saw this feast of frankfurters and noticed the orange octopus on top, I knew you couldn't be too far behind...

th_counselor

@Bubble @nanab It is shredded cabbage mixed with apple cider vinegar and poppy seeds and garnished with pimento. So, basically a pretty plain coleslaw that doesn't sound very appetizing. And it the frankfurters are secured with toothpicks. LOL!

rswestley

"Crown Roast of Frankfurters", the Playboy cole slaw spread, leg of lamb... it's all good as long as all the hair is removed

morepiecesplz

I agree... Playboy did a cole slaw spread a few months back... we don't need more...

Janie_Janie

Oh my goodness, this is unbelievable. It looks obscene.

Bubble

BB I just hope the sewing thread is edible, unless you're using floss !

johnnydawheel

You won't find that at Tony Packo's. :-))

nanab

This is the fun part; cut the franks in half lengthwise and sew together the bottom and the top to form the crown.

Bubble

If those franks are reall as big as they look, we'll need a very big mouth ! ♪♥♥♫

nanab

It's a common topping for hotdogs around here.

Bubble

Yuck, certainly don't like that BB ♪♥♥♫

nanab

The white stuff looks like sauerkraut.

For one of us.

Bubble

Very succinct Ianto ♪♥♥♫

They look like my wellington boots, albeit a bit small.

FF are good in sandwiches with cheese but whats all that goop on top? ♪♥♥♫

rswestley

You MUST get me this recipe! I have been looking for cowboy boots to put on my dogs and I can't find them anywhere... maybe I can make some doggie cowboy boots out of weiners? Oops, sorry! Didn't mean to show any disrespect... I didn't mean weiners, I meant to say "Frankfurters"

Juba1010

Close encounters of the wiener kind. Where are the mashed potatoes?

Yuck.
