joyfulnoise4

Love you OandA! Glad the sun came out today! It always makes me feel so much better...especially during winter months! You have no idea how good it makes me feel knowing I am included in your daily prayers! I am honored that you would think of me! Hope you father-in-laws service is a wonderful time of rejoicing in a life well lived! Hi Iris and Brighty! Brighty....we will take any warm weather you want to send across the pond! Love and hugs to all!

irisriver

Hi Rosesroses! Yes I am familiar with your area and lovely state! At the end of WWII my dad was in your area quite a bit. He was a Coast Guard sailor on the Ohio and Kanawha River. He was on the Green Brier a paddlewheel boat. On family vacations many years later he would point out the different towns and places he was in. I am in Bearcat team territory in a small town east of Cincinnati.

brightspark

Sending you lots of sunshine and hugs and smiles - and some south african warmth xxx

brightspark

swweet sweet O&A - sorry for the loss of your dearest fatherinlaw xx and i pray that your son is much better now xxxxxxxxx and that you find the courage to carry on through another day and another day - one step at a time, with much love and many hugs from all our soul sisters xxxxxxxxxx

brightspark

my dearest sweet girlfriends - so sorry some of us are having such a tough time - its so hard to lose our loved ones - sometimes its better for them to slip away rather than to suffer - but then its our time to mourn and grieve them - and yet we have to remember the wonderful times we shared together and to know that they never leave us - I know we are all comforted by our love and friendship and that we are able to share our good times and our bad times together knowing that there are lots of shoulders out there to lean on and draw comfort from xxx sharing is caring!!!

joyfulnoise4

Hi rosesroses! Glad you joined in our conversation! So glad you have a church that still preaches the gospel! They are becoming harder and harder to find in this crazy world. I have been so blessed to find this dear group of friends who pray for me and my family as I pray for them! I find myself doing less puzzles and more chatting! Since you are in Michigan I will assume you have snow! I have a friend in Howell and she showed 15 inches the other day on facebook! Please don't send it to me here in PA! Sending hugs!

rosesroses

irisriver, I just checked out your profile. I was delighted to see you live by the Ohio River. I grew up in the Ohio River valley. Go Marshall!! Now you can guess what city I refer to. :o)

irisriver

May good blessings be with you rosesroses! You have a sweet caring heart! Grins and smiles!☺

rosesroses

Oldandancient, I just came across the comments, and I want you to know that I stopped and prayed for you today. Your tears are precious to our Lord, so just keep on looking to Him and trusting Him for the sunshine of tomorrow. I see that you asked what part of MI I am from. I live in Southwest Michigan over the Lake. I have been refreshed to read your and Joy's exchange about churches. I happen to be in a church that preaches the Truth about the Good News of the Gospel. That's enough for me. The more broken this old body becomes, the better my future looks to me. PTL Have a happy day.....hum a little song of praise!!!

irisriver

Oldandancient, your feelings are probably more up and down from the holidays approaching. Our heads are filled with thoughts of times gone by when everyone was younger, healthier and had more time to be together. We want all the people we loved back and clustered around the table and Christmas tree. Joyful it sounds like you have a special group of folks at your church. I wont be on as much today with my friends funeral and helping with the meal at my church. Hang in there everyone with a prayer and a smile!☺♥☺

joyfulnoise4

You made me smile before bed! Remember... you can do all things through Him who gives you strength! End of sermon! Just want to encourage!

joyfulnoise4

I know there is no such thing as a perfect church. I also hate church shopping. I am not always content with our church, but the sermons are excellent and the kids are learning. I am finding at this time of my life the kid's spiritual growth has to come first. I will be praying that God will lead you to just the right church to meet your needs and help you to grow closer to Jesus!

joyfulnoise4

Wish I could be there to cheer you up and make you laugh! Think you need to get out and do something fun! How is your son feeling? Keep smiling and I will find something to post that will make you laugh. They say it's the best medicine! We had our Thanksgiving dinner at church tonight and I ate WAY too much! Everyone brought something and we had over 200 people show up. We even had to set up more tables. After we ate we had praise music and testimony time. Then we had communion. Each table had the bread and juice already there. It feels so much more like a family when we are at tables of eight instead of just during a morning service. I even saved a piece of pie to bring home for breakfast tomorrow! Hope you can feel my big hugs!

joyfulnoise4

Love and prayers to you OandA! Sorry you've had such a trying week. Sending lots of love to my jigidi girls!

irisriver

Take care dear friend. I hope stuff calms for you soon. You have my prayers! Holidays have come fast. Not easy getting used to the colder days either. Friendship smiles! Glad to see you before I sign off. Have a good evening.

brightspark

dear o and not so ancient - seems like you are very busy - so glad to hear that and that you are well - i saw another comment on one of the other puzzles and thought you had been ill -i have missed all our chats and will have to catch up on all the news xxx LOADS OF LOVE to you alll xxxxxx

joyfulnoise4

Glad you don't have to shovel out right away roses! I don't personally care if I ever see a snowflake again! I guess Pennsylvania is the wrong place to live! It was almost 50 degrees here today! I'd prefer 70's but I'll take what I can get! Hugs!

rosesroses

Joy, we aren't seeing any grass! We had our first snowfall of the season with about 6 inches and still snowing. It is beautiful....now that I can stay inside and just look out the window and enjoy it ...no more getting up early to shovel so I can get out of the garage and go to work.

joyfulnoise4

Glad we aren't involved in quite that many activities! Besides the time factor, it's just too expensive! You guys were very involved parents....that is wonderful! I hope your kids appreciated it! Good thing about yard work is it will still be there the next time you go outside! I'm just glad to still see the grass! Nice to catch up with you today! Hugs and love!

joyfulnoise4

Hi dear friend!! How are things with OandA? We are the usual crazy! Basketball season has started for my son. I had no idea! Practice every night and when games start there are some weeks where they have three games! I am definitely going to need my jigidi time! In fact I am trying to wrangle them into bed as I type! Think I'm losing the battle! LOL We had another lovely warm day, but the weekend is suppose to turn cold.... yuck! How is your family doing? Hope your son is feeling well. Time to start thinking about Thanksgiving and decorating for Christmas! Sending love and hugs!

joyfulnoise4

Rosesroses...you are too funny! Cooking has never been something that I particularly enjoy!

rosesroses

I need a plaque that reads: Do you like my kitchen? I used to use it.

brightspark

Hi girlfriends xxxxx love your plaque o and not so a - that plaque would go down well with us !!! And it is true home is where your story begins .... lovely

joyfulnoise4

OandA...I like that one too! My mom just bought me an angel that says "Home... where your story begins!" Still looking for the right place to hang it!

joyfulnoise4

bhelen...nice of you to visit my puzzle! I would love to see your plaque! My mom got me mine for Christmas last year! It suits me perfectly as I hate to cook! Hugs!

bhelen

I have this (exact) verse on a plaque over my wall oven! Maybe I'll take a picture of mine, and put it on Jigidi, too! :-)))

brightspark

i am praying that you will all be able to get together -shame its so sad when families are all so far apart, our family has also dwindled its so sad xxxx when is your thanksgiving ???

brightspark

hi girlfriends - my granny stayed 8 hour drive from us by the sea and we used to go by train overnight as it was just me mom and my younger brother - used to see her once a year xxx sometimes my moms sister would come down at the same time - and it was such fun cos she had 4 kids and then there would be 6 kids on the livingroom floor sleeping heads to toes xxxxxxxx the squash did not matter!! As we grew up the kids got married and immigrated and now hubby and i are the only ones in south africa xxxx when i got married there was 81 of us in the family and at least half of us would get together on a jewish holiday - now there are so few left - most passed away or immigrated xxxxxxx

joyfulnoise4

What wonderful memories O and A!! My Mom's parents moved close to us when I was in college. It was nice to finally have grandparents so near, but aside from Sunday dinners we didn't go places together. Their health was already beginning to fail by then. I was just glad to enjoy the time we had together! Living in such a small town I sometimes feel bad that my kids don't have relatives close by like other kids. They have been so fortunate to be adopted by so many special people here. They have lots of adopted aunts, uncles, and grandparents! Love and hugs!

irisriver

What special times those were for you! My grandmothers on each side lived close. One in my town and the other just about a mile and a half away. The town was full of aunts and uncles too. Now there are only 2 left and cousins. That is just the way it is being among the younger set in a family. Growing up though I had lots of folks to spoil me rotten! Grins and smiles! Have a good night.

joyfulnoise4

O and A...that's how it was when I was a kid. Once a year for each set of grandparents! So glad my parents are close enough that we can make more frequent trips!

brightspark

so sad but what can one do ????? enjoy yours as much as you can xxx very special for grandchildren to have a granny and papa to visit them and spoil them and give them hugs and love xxxxx

joyfulnoise4

Good for you Brighty! I can't imagine not seeing my mom and dad for a whole year! Enjoy each and every second! Love and Hugs!

brightspark

Getting lots of baby fixes, have to store them on my heart for at least a year xxxx he is so sweet, hugs and kisses to you

joyfulnoise4

Can't think of Thanksgiving yet! Let's get through October! Have no idea even where we will be yet for Thanksgiving! Well, that's next month's problem! LOL Brighty....snuggle that baby for me! I need my baby "fix"!

brightspark

Baby is divine - a little munchkin - keeps us busy especially his mommy. your shopping trips sound awesome - no going out here, maybe next week we will go to town one day xxxx baby crying have to go help out LOL LOL LO< and many many hugs an kisses

irisriver

Nothing like an after the feast turkey sandwich with lots of mustard. At Thanksgiving time mom and I always drag out the Christmas tree and put it up. An all day job to put it all together. It has always been the family tradition. For live trees we decorate the evergreens in front of the house. Grins and smiles!

irisriver

Make it like you would macaroni and cheese only use spaghetti instead of macaroni and add some chopped turkey and broccoli. A neighbor taught mom and I how to make it. Grins and smiles!

joyfulnoise4

Love turkey tetrazzini! Have no idea how to make it though! I never host Thanksgiving so I never have leftovers! Unless I can steal some! LOL

irisriver

Good Will is a great place to shop. I buy lots of books at the one near me. I like hunting for sweat pants there and often find them with the tags still one. Some of my puzzles have been of books I found there. You are both making me hungry for Thanksgiving. After Thanksgiving we like making Turkey Tetrazzini with the left over turkey. Grins and smiles!

joyfulnoise4

Right now I could enjoy some turkey with that sweet potato bake! Love those with all the brown sugar and nuts...yummy! Please keep the ice cream for yourself....I like my cobbler plain! Just washing up all our bargains from yesterday! I know the kids will be anxious to wear them! Hugs!

joyfulnoise4

We had an awesome trip to Goodwill and Salvation Army! My daughter found two books... which she was reading before we even left the store! She also made out with a bagful of clothes! My son got a pair of jeans... brand new with the tags still on them. Original price $37.00 Goodwill price!2.99! Love awesome bargains!

irisriver

Nothing like a fresh baked cobbler! The scoop of ice cream on top is great too. Have a fun night on Jigidi. Getting to sleepy to puzzle! Grins and smiles! Had a nice trip to library today.

joyfulnoise4

I actually am blessed with a lovely kitchen! I just hate to cook! I am sure both of you ladies are wonderful cooks! O and A, I don't care about the turkey as long as your pies fit!! Blackberry of course! Hugs!

irisriver

Great puzzle and great kitchen story. I bet that turkey comes out delicious in spite of the oven. My mom had her ship come in to. My dad belonged to Coast Guard at the ending of WW2. He ended up assigned to a paddle wheeled ship on his home river. Soon afterwards they were married. Grins and smiles!
