We drove past here in'78 when the Rhine was in flood and absolutely roiling! Seven people drowned that year.
To gather tolls they hung a chain across the river to stop boats from proceeding.

helenpuz, I found it hard to imagine how it was used for river tolls, glad you liked it. Timch, it certainly does look very much like the prow of a ship...you're right.

Beautiful puzzle, milinski!!! I checked the history and wow....such a varied story. The dungeon was actually floating wood in a well!!! Thanks for sharing with us!
