In Today's Daily Jigsaw Puzzle, we admire the chameleons. Chameleons, known for their extraordinary color-changing abilities, utilize this trait primarily for communication, temperature regulation, and signaling moods rather than camouflage. Their skin contains specialized cells called iridophores and chromatophores, which reflect and absorb light to produce a wide range of colors. This process is influenced by factors such as light, temperature, and the chameleon's emotional state.

These reptiles have other unique features, including independently moving eyes that provide a 360-degree field of vision and exceptional depth perception. This allows them to spot prey from up to 20 feet. Their ballistic tongues, which can extend up to twice their body length, are powered by elastic collagen structures, enabling them to capture prey with remarkable speed and precision.

Chameleons exhibit a wide range of sizes, from the nearly 27-inch-long Parson's chameleon to the tiny nano-chameleons, which measure less than an inch. Their habitats vary from Madagascar's rainforests to African savannas and Middle Eastern deserts, showcasing their adaptability to different environments.
