So pleased to hear that you are Ok Fowly. It must have been a terrifying time. I guess this will become part of life from now on as our politicians move on to other issues. Can't believe that the implementation of the recommendations from the Royal Commission seem to have stalled. Minister for Emergency Management David Littleproud said the Government would "carefully and methodically" consider the report and its recommendations. Wonder what that means ? I really hope that your area is made safe so that you don't experience the same situation in the future.
Areas down the South Coast which are managed by Indigenous people were left virtually untouched. Many land owners there are now employing these proven practises to manage their land. We are slow learners.
Best wishes.

I live just across the river from here and still have some burnt leaves that were wind blown on my property. My village, Like Potato Point, has just one road in off the highway so there was no escape. We were lucky and had no fire outbreak. The fire men and women are all to be commended for their bravery. And a heartfelt thank you to our overseas helpers/ volunteers, some of whom sadly lost their lives.
This is a harrowing photo, owl2, but thank you, very belatedly, for posting it. Fay.
