A couple of bees perfectly napping in a flower. The bees sleep 5-6 hours in a 24 hour period and many bees hold each other's legs as they sleep..

That's interesting Bill. Maybe one day I'll find some time to do a little research and I won't be so bee ignorant :-)

That is certainly true for honeybees but I'm not so sure other bees follow that system. I also read that some male bees are on their own after they're no longer useful.

Good point Bill. I thought maybe they were taking a nap before they head back to the hive :-) I thought bees only exist to serve the queen :-)

How interesting! And a good reminder that not all bees live in hives. Thanks, Bob!

Hi generic_bear2. Now that's a thought. It makes sense to me :-)

Maybe that is to "anchor" them so they don't blow away.

One never knows what they will see and learn here on Jigidi.

Yeah, who woulda thunk it? It's an aspect of bees that has never, ever, crossed my mind :-)

What a neat photo of the two bees sleeping and the information about them.
