i read all victoria holts and jean plaidy's books when i got married - we had an amazing library a couple of blocks from where we stayed and i spent many happy hours there browsing for booksxxxxx

jeaneth

not too keen on Barbara Cartland, I find her menfolk too much of little goody two shoes

irisriver

I love old fashioned authors like Lucy Walker and Barbara Cartland too. My grandmother got me into those books. Also love the Victoria Holt books. Grins and smiles!☺

jeaneth

my favourite author is the late British Author James Herbert plus Josophine Tey.
my all time favourite book just has to be J/T's Brat Farrer already read it must be 3-4 times

Dollcollector

See joyful, you are going to have to start reading, so you can enter into conversation
with brightspark, oldandancient and irisriver.

I like David Baldacci, Stephen King, I love all of Dean Koontz books, I am just starting
to read Nelson DeMille's 'Radiant Angel' I have to read large print books now. Such a pain.
Many of the books are so heavy, forget about reading in bed! I just can't get into Clive
Cussler, wish I could.

joyfulnoise4

Are you all still talking books? LOL Glad this puzzle sparked a fun conversation! Hugs!

brightspark

i think the most read books on the ship were by james patterson and mary higgins clark as well as david baldacci and cliver cussler

irisriver

I love Mary Higgins Clark and Clive Cussler. Neat that all of you could swap books. Grins and smiles!☺

brightspark

irisriver

We have Brightspark puzzles today! Yay! Grins and smiles!

joyfulnoise4

Well...we'll have to see what the future holds! At least if I couldn't climb the stairs I have a bedroom on the first floor! We slept in it when our addition was being added. I hated the kids being upstairs and me being downstairs. Probably got up three or four times a night just to check on them! Hope you are having an awesome day! Hugs!

irisriver

I found something funny dealing with exercise and posted it an hour ago. I had our gang in mind. Mom and I often call for each other when one of us is in the attic. Don't have a basement but a big set of stairs. I hate it when we are both upstairs and we here the phone ringing downstairs. Often when our hands are quite full. Good for you having a stair lift booktime! Grins and smiles!

joyfulnoise4

I quite understand booktime! I definitely would not want you to break any bones! So you have your own personal elevator!! There are days it would come in handy but overall the stairs give me exercise! It's when I get upstairs that a kid needs me in the basement....the same kid that didn't need me two seconds earlier...that the stairs seem a chore! At least I don't have to carry laundry up and down stairs....laundry is on the second floor! Best idea! My first house it was in the basement, 2nd house it was on the first floor and now third house it's on the second floor. No more houses or next time it will be on the roof! LOL! Hugs!

Hi Joy, Aah what a shame that your Hubby not making the trip with you. I will BOO with you. It would have been so nice if you could all have made the trip. Thank you for the insight into the Swiffer Cloth. I have Carpeted Floors for Safety purposes, I wouldn't want to slip and fall, have had to many plaster leg casts on in my life, don't want anymore. Have I told you I have a Stairlift,, bet you would love to borrow it, to get to your bedrooms and bathrooms. :) and Hugs.

joyfulnoise4

Booktime...we actually have a thing called a swiffer! It's a mop like handle but at the end you attach a swiffer cloth. It is kind of a disposable microfiber cloth that picks up dust, dirt and hair off the floor. It sticks to the cloth then you just throw it away. Works great for any hard floor surface! I use them all the time in the bedrooms and bathrooms! Thanks for the prayers! They are much appreciated as I am travelling alone with the kids. Hubby has to stay home and work! Boo!

Hi Girls, well Joy that is amazing to hear that your sister lives right near to where my friend just moved to. Hope your packing goes smoothly and that you can all head out to your Mum's at a relaxed pace. Missing Brighty as well, hope she and her hubby having a fabulous time. Have a blessed time at your Mum's Joyful & Family, will be thinking of you all, covering you all with my prayers. Love and Hugs. :) O&A, I love your word for cleaning your floors ( swiffering) I think that is brilliant. Much Love and Hugs. :) Iris, hope you enjoyed your little inside jobs today, and thank you for the sunshine you sent to my Heart, as all of you do. Love and Smiles. :)

joyfulnoise4

Thinking of Brighty too! Can't wait to hear from her! Booktime...my sister lives right near Bellfontaine! That's where she goes to do her shopping and goes to church there! Small world! Iris...we got the rain for a few brief moments but now the sun is trying to come out again! Perfect day to open the windows! Planning to head out next Tuesday! Have a lot to do to get ready! Hate packing and trying to remember what everyone needs...including the dog! LOL I'll have my tablet so I will still check in with you all! Hugs!

irisriver

You are on a roll getting stuff done oldandancient. Don't get too overheated. We are all getting good stuff accomplished today and seem in better spirits for it. Mom always told me that the best way to deal with what ever bugs you is to find a job to keep your hands busy. That includes weather moans. Grins and smiles!

irisriver

Sounds like everyone is busy and doing ok today. We had our rain spell and the day is warm. To soggy to stay outdoors much though. Good excuse for Jigidi. I have been doing odd and end organizing and straightening jobs including my computer desk. Cluttered by too many puzzle ideas. Glad you will get to go to Columbus dear joyful! Grins and smiles!

Have a blessed safe trip Joyful, and a great time. Hugs and Love. :) O&A, Hope all goes well with the Pottery Sale this weekend. Will be thinking of you all. Hugs and Love :)

Hi Joyful, My friend has just moved to Bellfontaine from Wellston and before that he was in MacArthur. When are you heading out to your parents.

joyfulnoise4

Every time I think about going outside it threatens rain! Where in Ohio is your friend? I am headed to my parents in the Columbus area!

Hi Joyful. My goodness you are being such a busy bee today. I decided to give myself a easy and quiet day today. Here I am now trying to chat with you and my English friend who is living in Ohio, he is being right silly in his txts tight now. Hope you managed to get your bay window done. Thinking of you. Sending. Much Love, Hugs, and Smiles. xxxx

joyfulnoise4

Sounds like everyone is having productive days today...myself included! So far I have exercised, done work for both stores and changed the sheets on the kid's beds! It is still warm here today and windy too! Letting that fresh air inside! OandA...there is a special postage rate for sending books. I don't know if this applies to overseas but here in the US. I sent a very heavy box of books to my cousin and it only cost me $10. So glad you had a good night's rest OandA. You'll probably get another one tonight if you get all that work done! Still lots to do today! I might just tackle that dirty bay window! Make hay while the sun shines as they say! Hugs girls!

irisriver

Hi friends! You asked me to send some sunshine. I found something that might help! I am glad you slept well O&A! Friendship grins and smiles to all of you!

Hi O&A, Unfortunitely, here in England, the Council, only allocate so much of their years expenditure to the Libraries. I thank you anyway for the Kindness of your Loving Thought that you would have sent me some Books if postage had been lower. Your kind Thought has really touched my Heart. I am happy to hear that you slept well. Don't overdo it trying to get all your cleaning and laundry done. Sending you a Heart full of Love, and all the Hugs you can hold. Love you. :) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Girls, hope everyone ok. Just had a rain shower yuk, so I just be cozy in the house. Joyful, if you go to your Mum's have a wonderful time. O&A Hope you managed some restful sleep, and feeling much better. Iris, Glad you enjoyed the Game. Wish we had all the great books in our Library that you have in yours, those love inspired and cozy mysterys are great, pity English Librarys can't get many at all of them. Much Love to all of you. :) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

irisriver

The Bengals won! Worth staying awake for the game. Grins and smiles!

joyfulnoise4

Praying you have a wonderful restful sleep tonight OandA! It's hard not to get on everyone else's schedule when you are a night owl! Sweet dreams!

irisriver

I do know you would miss your late Jigidi nights! LOL grins!

irisriver

joyfulnoise4

Hope you can get some pictures OandA! I love pottery! Praying that they have success and that you have a pretty weekend! Glad to see my dear friends this evening!

irisriver

So are you dear friend! God is good and so are friends like you and the rest of the soul sister gang! Grins and smiles!

irisriver

Take care this weekend. I know it will be exciting and stressful at the same time. Will be praying they have much success! Grins and smiles!

irisriver

That might be a good idea joyful! You need some TLC from your mom! My library has the love inspired books too lots of them! Grins and smiles!

joyfulnoise4

OandA....she read the Christy Miller series and said she loved it! Right now she is into a book on creation that a friend gave her. I tried to get her to the library but she wasn't in the mood! Girls! Thinking of taking off with the kids next week and going to visit my parents! Then my son can spend his 13th birthday with family! You guys can keep me posted on your book club! Hugs!

irisriver

The love inspired series by Harlequin books are good too, and easy to find in places like Walmart and even some grocery stores sell them. Those books are short quick reads and come in a variety of themes. Grins and smiles!

irisriver

I am pretty sure I read one of her books once! Inspirational authors are a great way to get used to reading again. Another good tip is trying some of the young adult books yourself. Many have great plots without being so long and wordy. Reading smiles!

irisriver

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! YAY!!! LOVE IT! READING GRINS AND SMILES!

fodus

Bright cheerful room.

Oh Joy, Thank you, for this wonderful puzzle for us all to relax in and cosily snuggle up in with a great book in our hand, don't think you would ever get me out of that room, and just look at all those wonderful books just waiting to be read. Book in one hand and Cuppa in the other, sheer perfection. :) xxxxxx

joyfulnoise4

Renlea...from one tea drinker to another, I totally agree!!

Only thing missing is a small table next to the chair for my cup of tea. Otherwise, perfect!

Dollcollector

Seniorgirl, we were waiting for you to do the honors, the long matches
are on the mantel.

joyfulnoise4

Start a fire....probably not something you want me to do! I would want a gas fireplace so I could just flip the switch!

Someone forgot to light the fire for a cozy afternoon of reading.

joyfulnoise4

Sure jeaneth! You all are going to have to make appointments for use of this chair! Guess if I was going to pick a room with a lot of books I should also have found one with lots of seating! Seems like I've started a book club (which is funny as I am not an avid reader)!

jeaneth

Hope that includes me as a book reader my two favourite authors are the late James Herbert & Josephine Tey

joyfulnoise4

Dollcollector....are you a reader too? I am not. Although I have been reading the books the kids are reading for seventh grade. Want to make sure I approve of the reading materials! So far they have been really good! You are welcome to use this comfy chair anytime! Hugs!

Dollcollector

A comfy chair, a roaring fireplace and a huge selection of reading matter,
booktime, Iris, Brighty, O and A are lucky ducks to have this jigsaw puzzle
to relax in.
