If you want to see what this looks like in real life google Timema cristinae . It’s a grasshopper like insect that is a background mimic . It evolved to eat a new plant species and the newer timemas look like the new plant . The intermediate insects, which show up on the 2 plants, get eaten so this is an example of punk eek (punctuated equilibrium) as well!
